When did this site come into existence? Seems like it hasn't been around long or doesn't get much press. I ran across it today when I was trying to find a song by Algaloch that Itunes didn't have.

Seems like a pretty good place for music downloads. I was able to listen to full songs most of the time instead of 30 second cuts and many were 10 cents (woo hoo) cheaper than Itunes or Amazon too. Several artists and particular albums (Itunes' Buckwheat Zydeco selection leaves much to be desired) seem to have more presence there than elsewhere.

Anyway, check it out.

Huh...that is weird. Why would Itunes then not have the songs on lala then? Was there some kind of agreement when the site was purchased that stated that the songs already with rights on lala could not be moved to Itunes?

I was wondering though when I saw some songs for $1.29 and they were the same ones that Itunes has been selling at that price. I thought maybe it was some kind of link farm that just sold songs from all over.

December 2009 is when they got it, probably just going slow on converting it over(if they even plan to).

I also like their setup for free full previews.

Meh, Apple could have bought it for several reasons..

a) eliminate competition obviously..
b) they were interested to see how customers viewed the different different options (full free previews, full sound clips, etc), and if they enjoyed it tremendously, they may implement the better parts of it into their mainstream product (itunes), basically using a take-over as a consumer test group
c) it's late and I have no idea wtf I'm talking about
