Does anybody else feel like their AS against anything without a shield is fucking bullshit?

A Grimswarm orc ranger cocks his light crossbow and loads it with a plain wooden bolt.
A Grimswarm orc ranger fires a plain wooden bolt at you!
AS: +82 vs DS: +21 with AvD: +21 + d100 roll: +77 = +159
... and hits for 24 points of damage!
Well aimed shot almost removes an eye!
You are stunned for 3 rounds!
The wooden bolt breaks apart and crumbles away.

That was with a level 5 Warrior wearing Mithril Studded Leathers in FUCKING DEFENSIVE.

Dude, I just get sick of +70 AS to my 20 DS. When I normally have something like 113 DS.

Yep I have the same problem. Best bet is to ask for blues, that helps a lot, grab massies, etc.

Ranged is no issue for warriors once you get redux and plate. Also you could try to get some puncture protection added by a warrior.
