Question for all you number crunchers and stat freaks. What is the highest CS a Paladin can obtain, and what does the spell training look like? I've done some testing but it seems like you hit a huge dimineshing return with your Pally spells ranks once you hit the mid 100's. Who knows the combination of spiritual to pally spells that give you the biggest bang for your buck?

I know nothing about paladins but, in the case of sorcerors at least, after your level+21 worth of base circle spells, you notice diminishing returns.

At 202 total spells, 160 paladin 42 minor spirit, you can get a base CS of 449. This does not include racial bonus. With a dark elf or forest gnome, you'll get 30 more. With 1612 trained to max the CS bonus (+25), you can get a 504 CS.

21 ranks = 16 CS

This is correct. I had it worked out with Valicar (giantman) at 202 spell ranks would have a flat 500 in the paladin circle which would obliterate just about anything, but it was a wierd mix of spell ranks bwteen the 100s and 200s. The problem is the 0/5454 training points required above and beyond 1x in spells. That is years of post cap grinding to achieve.

I do not think anyone has gotten close to the mark yet though Sabreon is probably nearer than anyone.

Is Naseer not active?

Zimzum and Naseer were both somewhere near 500, though not quite there.

As far as points go, a lot of classes have this problem. The thing is that, besides Naseer and Sabreon, there really aren't any people grinding a post cap paladin.

Theoretically, based on the player derived CS formula and rounding, the highest CS combo would be either 162 paladin/40 MnS or 159 paladin/43 MnS, since the bonus for the non-casting spell circle is added at ranks 1, 4, 7...37, 40, 43 etc.

162 paladin: (100 + 15 + 20 + 1) = 136
40 MnS: 14
Total: 150

or

159 paladin: (100 + 15 + 20) = 135
43 MnS: 15
Total: 150

Menos is and well he is over 2x capped now. I do not hunt Valicar much anymore myself (been working my other characters up), but he is closer to 2x capped than he is to 1x. I cannot think of any other 10m+ exp paladins who are very active at the moment...

except that it has a level-comparison factor in that unless you are nearly 10 levels over the target(s), you will not get the full binding effect even on a massive endroll.

That's pretty awesome. Are you planning on pumping the CS up higher with Stat enhancives, or have you already done so?

Yeah, sorry about that Morph. I get a little trigger happy from time to time. As for the CS, I am hoping to up it with enhancives. I am not using anything at this time. I'm definitely open to suggestions on which enhancive would get the job done best. As soon as I'm fully bonded to the weapon it should raise up another 4 points, give or take.

I think I'll focus on harness power, armor use and maneuvers for a bit. The thought of tooling around the lands in full plate laying everything to waste without swinging my weapons is appealing.

If you aren't going into offensive, MBP would be a much better option. This will allow you to train off action penalty, but still be in heavier armor. You'll also have a much lower spell hindrance.

As for enhancives, just load up your AG badge with wisdom bonus. CoL bracers give +1 wis each, so buying two of those is another CS. Wisdom enhancives can get quite expensive, so be prepared to spend a lot.

Tumbadoo

MBP is the option I'm looking at for now. Which would allow me to only need a handful more ranks of armor use. Wisdom for sure.

WRoss
02-22-2010, 06:40 PM
One thing that will suck about being in MBP is that a lot of wisdom enhancives are on greaves and helms, which will fuck up your AP.
