Kobold Mine Quest

Hello,
I'm relatively new to Gemstone IV and had a question I hope someone can answer. I received a quest from the blacksmith in Wehnimer's Landing to go get him a slab of iron...he even gave me a map. However, in his instructions he says to go down a ring near the iron ring, but it looks like the rope is gone. Am I missing something? Is there another way in there?

Let's see. You go up the Mine Road and then stop in a deadend where you can only go back SE. Then you look around at the mountain face there, find that iron ring, turn or pull it, and it'll open a crevice.

To make iron, you're going to need charcoal (from the charcoal burner behind the bushes at the entrance (you get wood from the pile and put tinder and heavy logs in the burner, then light it by holding two sticks and rubbing them), oil (search around in the old workshop or whatnot where there's an oil drum), and iron ore (all the way down in the mines, search the workface). You'll need 1 charcoal, 1 oil, 4 ore.

Go to the crucible room, make sure the valve is closed, put everything except the oil in the crucible, go east, put the oil in the drum or whatnot, pull the chain and pump the bellows once, go west, open the valve, go back east, and pull the chain and pump the bellows three more times, then go west and wait.

Something like that. It's ridiculously complicated, but also really cool and rather fun.
