Aren't you able to do it earlier with a 5x bow and a 5x arrow? I thought that was one of the benefits/issue that you could use them early on.

You can hold 5x bows and 5x arrows at 13, but the bonus will only stack to level/2.

Level * 2, you mean. At level 10, the max bonus you can utilize is +20. 13 you'd get 26 AS. At level 25, you can get the full +50.

On another note, getting your hands on a 6x bow will make life much happier because you can then use ebladed arrows and still get the max AS bonus without grinding through fletching all day.

So true....My Ranger stopped fletching once he got a 6x composite bow.
