Random in that you are a full season behind in the show, yes.

I felt like, at times, the show went out of its way to make season 2 a Gatsby story, including Hank referring to Ashby's dream girl as his 'Daisy Buchanan' to name one instance, among others that I don't remember right now.

So yes I agree. Please watch season 3.

I've seen all of it. I only mention it because I have a paper I have to write about
Gatsby.

I agree with you 100%. If you do not see the similarities between Jay Gatsby then you may want to take another look at the novel. At one point, Hank even says to Janey Jones, "Hey, you know he throws these huge parties and they drink his booze and they act like they're his friends, but the guest of honour never shows," which summarizes the entire plot of Gatsby in a single sentence. Further, he owns a mansion, is wealthy beyond belief, but is miserable because he lost his one true love. Lastly, his name is Ashby.... You don't find that a little coincidental. Give me a break.
