We ordered a little truffle sampler from Kuyuk when he first started up, and my girlfriend really liked them. So much so, that she told me that she wanted Truffles for Valentine's day. That was fine with me, so I ordered up $50 worth from Kuyuk. They should be arriving today.

Last night, she told me that she's started her diet, so the truffles will be mine and she wants me to get her something else (unspecified) for V-day. At first I thought she was joking, but I could tell by the look in her eye that she was serious.

The sad part is that these things never surprise me anymore.

I've only ever had guys go nuts after getting pussy. Not all of them, but some. Like one guy who told me he loved me like the second time we did anything and got angry when I made it clear the feeling was not mutual, and proceeded to hound me for months, swinging between "I love you and we're soulmates, you cannot deny our love!!1" and "omfg I hate you!". His reaction was bewildering and amusing because outside of sex I wasn't interested at all in talking to him or anything. We didn't even qualify as 'friends with benefits' because I didn't even consider him a friend. I still occasionally get emails linking to "missed connections" Craigslist postings clearly made by him about me. There have been varying degrees of other crazy but typically I just ditched them and it stopped.

I can't say the same thing about female bedbuddies. Maybe it's because they've all been in similar situations to my own, but I've never had even a hiccup of drama/craziness after having sex with another girl.

What I find weird/bewildering is not that he cooks, but the repetitive indulgence when it comes to crazy behavior. I would expect to be told "You're being fucking crazy, knock it off."

Like the diet thing- if she does this enough that you know what to 'forget', why not just sit her down and be like, "You do this all the time. I get you want to lose weight, but this didn't work the last 500 times and there is nothing dumber than doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Let's figure something else out."

It's more a tolerance than indulgence. I didn't say I was actually going to get another gift, just that she stated I should get her one. I do give her the "you're being crazy" talks occasionally, but mostly I just pretend to not hear stuff or forget that I heard it, because I know the tide will be going the other way soon enough, and then it won't matter.

I probably am guilty of putting up with more than I should, but between her DD's and the fact that she gave birth to my son, she does have some leverage over me. However, I mostly tolerate the craziness because I assume that other women, no matter how sane they might appear on the surface, are just as bad. Hence the poll... maybe I'm wrong?
