Were these the same attunable weapons like the one Tayler had years ago that you can read about on Krakiipedia? Anyone know what these sold for?

Yes, they are the same. A handaxe went in the token room and a falchion went for 50 million in the silver room.

Oh cool, thanks. That's cheap. I;m bummed
The guy who won the token room one couldn't use it, and tried to resell it after everyone told him it was attuned. It was embarrassing.

Couldn't use it? The char was trained in ohe, and prefers handaxes. Tried to resell it? Never, I can't, it's attuned to me. What you're trying to say, is that I had planned to resell it, but after the drawing found out that wasn't possible. Simple mistake, no big deal. The only embarassing thing was the amazing amount of whining that happened after I won it. I believe the entire room was filled with five year old girls at that moment.
Simple mistake, except you asked 30 times if it attuned, you were told 30 times that it did, and you still thought you could resell it. Save face now but at the time you were confused.

I was confused, you're completely right on that point. Here's where that happened.
A. I was under the impression that "this item will be immediately attuned to the winner" meant that when the winner held it, it would attune to him/her immediately. I was incorrect in this.
B. I then asked the auctioneer if they could put it in a sack for me (meaning, "can you put it in a sack for me so that it won't attune to me") I didn't state that last part though, and so I was unclear in my question. Auctioneer replied, "Yes, I can put it in a sack for you (meaning, "This person must not be old enough to hold the weapon, so I will attune it to them and put it in a sack for them until they are old enough to hold it). Given my mistaken impression in point A, and her affirmative answer to my poorly worded question, I cast my token.
Completely my fault, but was a simple misunderstanding nonetheless.

You didn't really seem too pleased to find out the truth though after you won. In fact, I believe you said something along the lines of, "You people all should stop complaining. How do you think I feel? I wasted my one token on something I can't even use!" That isn't really consistent with a character who "trains in OHE, and prefers handaxes." That weapon was pretty much the #1 or #2 item in the auction for anyone who uses edged weapons, let alone one who prefers handaxes.

While being alot of fun, the weapon is weak, mechanically speaking. The spells are nice, but the limitations on using them (2x a day, using all your mana for one spell, that kind of thing) keep the weapon from being worth using all the time, especially if you have something better, mechanically. So without the spells, it's a scripted 5x flaring handaxe. A 4x hcw handaxe performs better mechanically. Since I already had a 7x dcw sanctified handaxe, I didn't need it. Hence, "I can't use it." For someone else, they might never have the opportunity to own something better than the coraesine handaxe, and so it would be #1 or 2 on their list at the auction, but until it's falchion counterpart sold for 50m, it wasn't even on my radar. So my statement, while again, unclear, was true.
EDIT: My #1 item at the auction was the obelisk. Once it was gone, I was in investment mode.

Fair enough, and after owning the weapon I'm sure you know a lot more about how mechanically useful and powerful it is than I do, but at least going into the auction it seemed to me superior to pretty much any other handaxe you could buy because of all the spells. I didn't realize the magic was so limited, but even the double-strike feature alone to me seems more valuable than HCW.
I still wish I could buy it off you today for 50 million.

Maybe the bonded coraesine performs different than the older coraesine with air/double flares, but I have an old school greatsword on my warrior and it is absolutely ridiculous.
I've had it flare up to 4 attacks on it's own, 5 with an additional attack from being bonded. Typically, it will only flare 2-3 because not much can withstand that many attacks. I guess the bonded coraesine doesn't flare that much?

My handaxe is fully bonded, and flares no more often than your average weapon with flares, in my experience. Would you say yours is more than average?

Yes, considering each swing can cause another flare.
You swing a curved coraesine sword at a Grimswarm orc ranger!
AS: +536 vs DS: +479 with AvD: +38 + d100 roll: +69 = +164
... and hit for 52 points of damage!
Slash to the orc ranger's lower back!
The orc ranger is stunned!
You feel a slight resistance from the weapon. Quicker than you are able to react the resistance fades and you notice your movements speed up!

... and hit for 18 points of damage!
Wild slash bounces off the back of the orc ranger's hand.

Hearty smack to the head.

Feint left spins the orc ranger around!
Jagged slash to lower back.
A blast of air strikes the orc ranger.

Blow grazes left arm lightly.

Roundtime: 5 sec.
Roundtime changed to 3 seconds.
Three extra swings...and a flare? I'd say that's better than typical flares.

Goddammit you had to go and make me bust a nut when I had finally convinced myself that it wasn't all that and gotten over not winning it. I would be so sick with that. Oh well.
I've owned the Bitch Flail for a time. I've never owned or had any experiance with the new style ones but here are the differences I see.
Old Style:
They don't bond, but there is a fomula based on some stats to help combat the chance to backbite. They don't have any spells, but the double strike flare is always combined with a blast of Air.
New Style:
They bond, and their backbite gets less and less with the more you use it. The air flare (I think) is seperate from the Double strike flare. They have all sorts of spells/abilities.
So both have pro's and con's. I wouldn't call one better then the other, they are both nice weapons.
And I do miss the flail, even if it was a flail.

Weird, I've had multiple strikes without an air flare. And there is no backlash at all if you have the right stats. I would have preferred the bonded type from the raffle a few years back, but, the old school one is a good substitute :)
EDIT: now that I'm looking through the logs, I think the only time it doesn't flare air also is when the mob is already dead after the final swing.

It's been a long time since I owned it, I seem to remember it always flaring a blast of Air with the Double strike, I could of been wrong though.
