ehhhh... I thought it was obvious that it was German and not Russian...

It's germans singing a song about how great Russia is.

Point to consider: The song is in 1979 or around that time and Germany was still cut in half by the Russian.

And yet they sing about how great Russia is...

They either did it for money or to fit in so that they and/or their family would not get hurt.
