Does anyone have any information on when and where induction takes place for joining the House of Paupers?
It's been many years since I've had to look up this information. And I have heard conflicting information on how to go about doing this. Any information would be appreciated.
Information.
Thanks.

Good question and good luck finding a member. I quit a few years ago and I rarely saw anyone inside the house sadly. Had a blast there.
I do remember it cost like 25k? and you had to be like level 5. Back in the day that was actually a slight achievement for a first time player.
Ask around TSSW and see what someone says. Or the small park or whatever they use now.

Plur is the chairman. I believe Traiva is also an officer.

They have inductions every week or so, but when you see it announced on the amunet, you need to get your ass to the moot hall right away.

It's 25K (or 20K?, I don't remember) in coins. Both that and level 5 are a general requirement of the CHE system. I think they'd let everybody in for free if they could.

30 extra spaces in the old lockers, thats about it anymore.
Are there any houses that are still active? Or did that all die away and give birth to the MHO's

I think giving something like extra locker space to what's supposed to be a community and RP organization is kind of stupid. Almost everybody joins paupers for the locker space, I just don't see the point of putting it in the hands of a house. I guess it's possible some people might get involved once they join but... there's nothing to get involved in.
Meh, just something that's always bothered me.

I'm surprised they don't see it as eating into their upsells.

Traiva posts here regularly..and yes, Plur is still head of the house and is awesome, although yeah, a bit OOC and goofy. Kynsien (sp?) is a suck ass officer though.

The extra space in house lockers came well before the premie system. If you're a house member and premie does your house locker have 110 spaces?

Not sure the exact numbers, but yes, they do stack.
With premie you get 80, so I figured +30 = 110. You can peer review my math if you like.

Let me get my calculator.
While I do know they stack to some extent, I'm not positive they stack 100% (so maybe it's 100 after both).

Glad to know someone thinks I'm decent :p
First, yes, Plur is no longer an officer of Paupers. Current officers are myself (Traiva), Kynseiyn, Ryhn and Xanator.
One of the main goals of Paupers has been to make a CHE available for people who want extra locker space but don't otherwise want to have to be hugely involved in stuff...as well as those who want to be more involved. There is a storyline surrounding the House that we're working to pick up again; you can find more on that at http://www.houseofpaupers.com/about/ (click on HISTORY at the top) (it got dropped a bit when a lot of us got hugely busy outside of game at the end of last year). If you're Premium, yes, your lockers are increased to hold 110 items, and for those of you who don't like that, you'll have to take it up with Simu because it's been that way since before I even became a member, much less an Officer.
My apologies about the website. It would have more working links if I could get my hands on it, but I can't, so there's not a lot I can do. It probably rankles me more than anyone else.
I have taken up a project to have a calendar (http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=houseofpaupers%40gmail.com&ctz=America/New_York), hosted by the House of Paupers, that lists as many public CHE and MHO events as I find out about. This calendar lists the current SCHEDULED Paupers Inductions; the next one officially scheduled is Sunday, February 21, at 9:30pm ET. House of Paupers is running an event this Sunday, February 14, from 8 - 10pm ET, and the Officer running it (Ryhn) has said she'll likely do inductions afterward. If none of the posted times work for someone, do try to find me in game, or IM me (you can get access to my IM here on the PC), but understand that I've GOT to also be able to have Ryhn or Kynseiyn with me, since they actually have the powers to induct and I don't (there has to be one inducting officer and a 2nd officer to witness). Most of the Paupers officers are around at night, so if nights don't work for you, send me a PM with your availability and I'll see about scheduling something. And yes, our CRIER does state that inductions start 5 minutes from the time the CRIER is fired off, so if you need more time than that, send out a thought over the amulet that you're on your way and we'll wait. You can also wait outside Moot Hall if you've missed us, and we'll run you inside after the first group.
Joining requirements:
Must be level 5 (GS mechanics thing; I think Paupers would take level 1 if we could!)
Must be able to pay the 20k initiation fee in coins. The coins thing is mechanics, the high initiation fee is because this is the ONLY coin you'll ever be required to pay to Paupers, unless we start pondering more on some sort of dues. This means that this is also our biggest stream of money for the House...but go figure, it works well!
If anyone has any more questions about Paupers or joining, IM me or send me a PM or post in this thread. Since becoming an officer last fall, one of my main goals has been to increase communication among Paupers members and coming out of Paupers in general; hopefully some folks can say I'm at least somewhat accomplishing that goal!

as to them not being interactive, there are the Knights. Which was a nice idea. Having said that, I'm more of a mind to say the idiot officers aside from traiva aren't worth the bother. but that's just me.

The Knights thing was a total cluster fuck and the last downfall of the house, another tribute to Kyns.

The Knights are still an active part of the House. I've never considered them particularly clusterfucked, but I've been more of an outside observer to their daily goings-on. I will say that the best reasons to protest against them came while they were under the watch of the Knights Lead that preceded Kynseiyn. The concept of the Knights was actually part of a broad attempt to flesh out the back-story of the house and add a little bit of depth to what has largely been considered a hall of lockers for years and years and years. I am otherwise not self-conscious enough about what we're doing with the house going forward to defend it or any of its officers here.
And I'm not an idiot, you douchebag.
EDIT: Also, the website is back up as of yesterday. Wink!

Kiss my glorious, golden ass.
-Ryhn.
Ryhn and Xanator are good people and experienced officers. They've both been involved in Moonshine Manor with Plur for years. They also have lives which means they don't spend every waking hour in game just to run a House. But that was never a prerequisite to being a decent officer.
If you're bashing these two you don't know them. I have for years.
Traiva I know little about but she seems to be organized enough from her post here and willing to work to help the house..
Kynseiyn is a fucking douchebag and should be banned for shit ass role play and an IQ lower than 40. He however is replacable if enough intelligent people voted.
I look forward to seeing the Lore behind this house ressurected a little and hopefully not slaughtered by Kyns.

Just as an FYI, there will be an induction for Paupers tonight at 10:30pm ET. Those interested should meet Traiva and Kynseiyn outside of Moot Hall; there will be a run to the bank after the group is assembled so that no one has to stand around with 20k in COINS in their pockets that a thief could pick up.
Requirements for Joining:
Must be at least level 5
Must be able to pay the 20,000 silver initiation fee IN COINS (the clerk can't read notes)
Can not be on a trial account
Must be able and willing to abide by the stupidly easy rules of the House of Paupers (available at http://www.HouseofPaupers.com/about )
If you can't make it tonight, the next scheduled induction is Sunday, April 11, at 9:30pm ET, with Ryhn and Xanator.
We also attempt to do spur-of-the-moment inductions, but 2 officers MUST be present to make that happen. So, sadly, if you can only find one available, it can't happen.
