This spells intrigues me and I'm wondering if anyone has done some research on it? How high of a spell can be transferred and how much training is needed? Out side of a clerics realm, what spells are easily transferred?

The only real use I've seen out of it is a cleric stealing 1612 (Champion's Might, aka extra spirit CS spell) off a paladin.

Interesting, that could definitely be helpful. But what about the other spheres like wiz, ranger, bard, and so on? Is it possible to get the lower level spells? And, at what point do you reach your limit on what you can transfer, and how is that determined?

In short:
Certain spells aren't stealable. Stealing spells from a target drains them of spirit. Training in arcane symbols, major spirit, and minor spirit affect your rune strength. The higher the spell is and the more spells you are wearing outside your own circles will require higher rune strength.

What kind of training does one need to be able to successfully transfer a 15th level spell from someone out of their own spell circles?

Get the spell difficulty of the spell you want to steal by attempting it. The Krakii-pedia page tells you the skills needed to get the rune strength to steal that spell.

Another good combo that is relatively easy to get to is to steal 508 (+20 ETD) and 507 (+20 DS) from wizards. 10 minutes a cast and it's stackable.

Do people really find use in more than is offered by full other-cast spells from a wizard and full self-cast spells of X profession?

It depends on the situation really.

508 and 507 really helped keep me alive (even though it didn't seem like it) during all the recent Solhaven stuff. If I had a pet paladin always with me, I'd definitely go for the +CS spell.

..and yeah.. it was Rathboner that figured out the exact formula.

How many ranks do you have in the necessary skills for this?

40 ranks in Minor Spirit, 40 ranks in Major Spirit, and 35 ranks of Arcane Symbols lets me steal 508 and 507 with 601 on.

and when you steal it from another player does it injure the other player?

Yes, in the sense that they lose spirit and mana. You can't spirit kill someone (but do take off aura enhancives just be safe).

If you can't steal the spell, for whatever reason, you CAN give them nerve damage. You can also give yourself nerve damage.

I did minimal research on spell 208. Krakii's information is way better than anything I could share outside of anecdotal information...so, here it is. It is truly a great spell. The fact that a cleric can put it into a gem with WAVE makes it all the more appealing, an thus many spells become readily available to any character with enough MIU and rune strength to steal.

I've stolen spell 218 (spirit servant) with a 208 gem using my rogue. That's was always fun.

Spell 308 and 318 are both stealable as well. I've used my empath to raise with that method when times were tough. Not so useful as a cleric, but being a cleric, you can perhaps offer that option to get a few bodies up quickly if necessary.

I've also stolen spells from critters when I see them cast. It's nice to implode back.
