Does anyone know the formula for calculating brawling DS (empty right hand, shield in left hand) in both offensive and defensive?

Parry DS = (Weapon Skill+(STR/4)+(DEX/4)) × (0.20 + stance/2) + (stance × 25)

..from Krakiipedia

I know that the formula goes to pot if you have 0 ranks, but that doesn't sound relevant here. I don't know if the enchant is part of the stanceable portion, but I'm pretty sure it is.

Brawling uses the standard parry DS formula for one hand weapons.

[Weapon ranks + trunc(STR Bonus/4) + trunc(DEX Bonus/4) + trunc(weapon enchant/2)] * stance modifier

One hand weapon stance modifiers (.2 + stance/2):

OFF: .2
ADV: .3
FOR: .4
NEU: .5
GUA: .6
DEF: .7

The advantage for brawling is that you don't need to be holding a weapon to trigger Parry DS.

E.g.
Brawling ranks: 60
STR bonus: 25
DEX bonus: 28

Offensive parry DS:

(60 + 6 + 7) * .2 = 14

Defensive parry DS:

(60 + 6 + 7) * .7 = 51

The empty right hand disadvantage with brawling is you lose the ability to outright parry attacks, and you also lose any weapon enchant DS. Bear in mind that a 4x brawling weapon will only add 2 DS in off stance and 7 DS in def stance.

Thank you. I was going to try and figure out if it really is worth the points for brawling for the ds in those seconds after you've hurled a weapon.

In answer to your question.. no, not really. They won't make any SIGNIFICANT impact to your DS.
