Watching his interview on ESPN and noticed he's wearing an Everquest hat. Hilarious.

Heh...I tried to merge the thread but couldn't..
But yeah, ain't that something?
How much you think he's getting from Sony for that?
AND I wonder what kind of character he plays???

Hey, think about it, a lot of these guys might play online RPGs. They're in strange towns all the time, the coaches don't want you partying, they have weird hours and nothing else to do. Good profile for us.

I saw that too.. Yeah he is definitely the type of guy to play that, he talks about Star Wars and other stuff like that a lot.
I remember a pretty big rumor about Brett Hart, the professional wrestler, playing GemStone 3. That's my extent of 'celebrities in GemStone' knowledge.

I know R.A. Salvatore plays Everquest.
I think Ed Greenwood does too.

Curt Schilling was cool until he went to Boston.

Apparently Schilling is big into computer games. He wrote a decent guest review for an EQ expansion pack a few years ago in Computer Gaming World.

All I can find, Edine:
(at simucon)"We've also had several famous people who play our games come by, such as the Hollywood actors Ann Hearn and Stephen Tobolowsky, and rock stars such as Eric Bloom, lead singer of the group 'Blue Oyster Cult.'"
From play.net itself.
Blue Oyster Cult... man that's a ringing endorsement.

Yah I saw that interview too and remembered reading about him playing EQ before.
Eric bloom played a long time ago, not sure if he does any more.
Tedra's player,Johanna Lindsey I believe, was or is a quite succesful author,
Thats one of the neatest things about GS, you can never be sure who you are playing with.

Ha, and one day when I'm a Senator, you can say, "Dude, that Senator...I played Gemstone with him years ago."
Hell, I'll probably still be playing, if it's still around.

I'm sure a lot of authors use RPG's for ideas.
I saw a very similar story to Ilvane's character story once, and always wondered!!

Always makes you wonder..if an author used your Char's RP and "life" to make a story..would that be stealing? Heh.

Yah Schilling is a programmer too. He created his own program that with his in put on players and umpires calls (specific) he can determine how he is going to pitch to a certain player on that day. Dan Patrick is always trying to get his hands on a copy of that!

Some other famous author types out there too, though I'll let someone else out them.

But they did have that performance on Saturday Night Live a few years ago... although it didn't really look like them... and there was a lot of laughter in the background... and Christopher Walken kept popping up. Hmm.
Apparently I'm in Red Sox country right now. UPN (of Smackdown fame) keeps putting on Red Sox commercials. :(
