So question?
Why go for anything over a 5x sighted bow? Isn't it just easier (and cheaper)to make your own 5x master crafted arrows for a full +50 effect?
I havn't spent much time as an archer...

Defense I think is the logic. I asked the same question a while back and was schooled on why my uber enhancive bow wasn't worth quite what I thought it was.

Defense is part of it, but the real reason is that fletching is an agonizingly long process. I go through so many arrows that it's infinitely more convenient to buy bundles of arrows from the fletching shop and have a wizard eblade them (4x ebladed arrows + 6x bow = 10x).

Hah. I was going to mention a glowbark +27 decently sighted bow I have but I guess that throws that out the window.

which is why my rogue knows 411. Infinitely more convenient that way.
