Rental car/Transportation needs

I'm trying to rent a car one way, from Anchorage to Talkeetna, AK. Problem is, there's no drop off locations in Talkeetna.

Does anyone know a rental service that lets you rent a car, leave it somewhere, then they come pick it up?

I arrive in Anchorage around 10 PM on 5/15 and would like to get to Talkeetna by about 8 AM on 5/16.

Anyone know anyone in AK that'd be willing to give me a ride??

What is truly frightening is how close Talkeetna is to Wasilla. In fact, it may be your best bet to find a drop off place there and get a ride the rest of the way. There is an Enterprise there.

There's a train that will get you in at 11:05. Don't know how strict your "8 AM" schedule is, but I can tell you I'm sure as shit not driving 2 hours on unfamiliar Alaskan roads in dark/dusk if I can possibly avoid it.

It also looks like Wasilla is still 70 miles from Talkeetna - so I might recommend against that.

Yeah, I wish I could take the train. It's not really an issue of money, I'm trying to take a refresher course before a climb I'm doing, it starts at 8 AM ... so the 8 AM time is pretty much it. I mean 15 min late won't be an issue, but 3.5 hours will be.

I think I found a shuttle with someone else I'm going with. Wasilla is the halfway point, pretty much, between Talkeetna and Anchorage. Going there will leave me in the same situation I'm in now. The road's not that bad going there though! I'd feel fine driving it.

Meh, a friend of mine did a rideshare from VT to AZ with a dog she had to transport for free.
