Currently, I'm in the market for two used Mac laptops. And, having never used Mac before, I'm hoping someone with some experience can help me out.
I'm trying not to spend more than $650 per machine - so I'm kind of limited in what I can purchase. One machine is going to be used primarily for school - I'm majoring in English so a lot of composition - and typical web-browsing type stuff. The second machine, for my wife, is going to be used for doing promotional work for a local art gallery. I'm guessing some basic spreadsheet stuff and maybe light graphic design.
It seems that Macs hold their value pretty well and the last generation 13" Macbooks are running right at my limit on price. I've also seen that some of the older models, G4 iBooks and Powerbooks, seem to have the specs that would support the basic stuff I'm going to be doing with my computer. Battery life is a big plus for me, as I'm going to be in the classroom.
I guess I'm kind of leaning towards purchasing an iBook/Powerbook for myself and a more up to date Macbook for the wife.
Any way, opinions would be appreciated.
