Yea, this was insane here in TN. The students at UT actually started rioting and shit. Pretty funny coverage on the news. They spray painted the big white rock on campus with all kinds of crazy shit "Fuck You Kiffin" "I Banged Layla" all kinds of stuff.

It takes a lot to bring your author back from my winter hibernation, but it is a grand day to be a Gator. In spite of our losing to Kentucky last night in hoops, the broadcast was worth watching just to see Urban Meyer smirking over what had to be countless Kiffin texts on his Blackberry. The Dumpster Fire that is Tennessee football is so hysterical that I almost feel bad for VolNation. Almost.

Vol Fan, at a moment like this I recall the old phrase, "He who lies with dogs, rises with fleas". Kiffie is the undisputed World Champion Four Door Asshole. But for 14 inglorious months, he was your asshole. You loved his snide comments, his trash talk about your rivals (guess he'll never get to sing RockyTop after beating Florida), his NCAA rule infractions (you said it was fine as long as it was in the name of aggressive recruiting), his poaching of the USC swagger and recruiting tactics. But now you hate him. Now your students almost rioted at the news of his dumping you for your hotter sister out in LA. All I can say is, we didn't hate the guy because we feared him. We hated him because he was an unmitigated asshole with zero track record of his own. Now you join the rest of us in realizing who you had as a head coach. Somewhere Phil Fulmer is laughing his fat ass off.

As for you, USC fan, congratulations on "winning" Kiffie, or Pete Carroll Light as I think you should call him. He's planning on bringing back all the old USC coaches and keeping all the USC traditions that Carroll instituted. The problem is, he isn't Pete Carroll. The guy made Al Davis look rational. As UT coach he lost to your rival UCLA at home. He got blown out by the ACC runner up in his lone bowl appearance. And with the NCAA setting up a branch office at your doorstep I'd argue that perhaps Lane, who has no clue what's in the NCAA rule book, isn't your best choice for head coach. Pete Carroll couldn't run the table in the PAC-10, what do you think Kiffie is going to do?

It's like people don't understand that credibility is transferable now. Anyone working under a select few reputable head coaches is thrown into their very own limelight on that basis alone.

This isn't even close to as shitty as Weis to ND. At least USC brought in someone who was familiar with their program, and will allow the program to continue moving in the same direction it was during his brief time away.

At any rate, they should be solid once they find a new QB. Barkley is meh, though they'll always have an amazing backfield, if only because stud HBs love easy white women that look like pornstars (which USC has by the boatload)!

Mitch Mustain could've had them at a solid 11-2. Houston Nutt saw a great deal of talent in the guy, and whether he practices well or not, he's one hell of a gamer.

Kiffin isn't that bad of a coach. If you look at the way UT performed towards the end of their season, they looked decent. He just brings a lot of attention because he is the standard of how not to act as a new head coach.

I feel like Kiffin is one of those public figures that no one likes but if everyone simultaneously stopped caring for a minute he would go away forever.
