I missed the first 3 quarters due to work. Not upset by that.

Tennessee and Auburn were the only two tests Alabama had all year. At least an SEC team won. Oh well, only 8 more months till the new season.

A tournament's not really all that feasible considering how hard football is on the players and how often they can play. You wouldn't want to schedule a game more than once a week, as in the current schedule, but you'd also have to keep the tournament from going on too long. It'd be hard to ask the players to give up their entire holiday vacation for the tournament, too. It might be possible to do the top 8 teams in the BCS ratings, and play 8 / 4 / 2 / 1 = 4 games, but even that's a lot.

Another other way to do it would be to shorten the current season and have the playoffs added in that way, but unless it maintained schools' revenue and kept the fans happy, it's not too likely.

That said, we did have a playoff system in HS football, but I can recall how it worked exactly.

Yeah, it's all about the $'s. Div II has done a playoff tournament for years, so it does work for the players. I think a tournament would actually bring in more money, but those in power just can't see giving up what they have.

Bowl games are outdated and boring.
