I can set one up on the same site we use for a chatroom on another forum I frequent. It's user-friendly, IRC based, no ads or shizzle like that.

Here, AIM, IRC, it's always been short-lived. Not trying to discourage the idea but it has happened before.

the way I saw it done on another forum was there was a tab on top, like next to our logout button, and it said "chat room" and the number of people in it, you clicked on it, and it started a flash based chat room in the browser window
