i don't have Highspeed at home. Nor can i get it because i live so far out in the god damn woods. Its just normal dial up. at 22.8 kbps (great huh?) Although we are toying with the idea of setting DSL up at a neighbors house and broadcasting it my house with a Wireless router, Big booster, and a directional antenna. Its probably a bit less than a half mile straight there Through the forest. Thoughts or ideas and is it possible? Discuss.

very possible.... Linksys I think sells extenders these days two, id say try it, if you have a problem, but two externeders and 150 foot ext. cords, build a small waterproof box, and run them from either house towards eachother :) I did it at work, and it worked like a charm

I was under the impression that directional antennas needed a clear path.

Yeah, if you can get it over all the trees in the forest. Things may have changed, but the stuff we were looking at required a clear path.
