I also see another flaw in this chart. If the pally has a bubble why evis?
Why open with Sap in a duel? I dont get it.

Who shivs?
Anyone who is smart enough to keep wound on their off hand and uses shiv to ensure the target always has it on?
Clense, shiv, repeat. One of the best things you can do as a rogue in pvp/arena keep that wound posion on.

A sapped target is easier to get a cheapshot on, less chance of the random AoE ability to pull you out, have them turning and maybe seeing you, etc. Sap to buy some time and make sure your real opener is clean.
I suppose but if you sap me --> cheapshot me you are going to be one dead ass rogue when I trink the cheapshot and light you up...its way better to gouge and garrote till you get the guy to blow his trinket then cheapshot and finish him. Its a matter of taste I suppose but even in arena as soon as I see I am sapped I just wait for the cheapshot to blow trinket and blink.

When was the last time you played a rogue? PvP it's Envenom now, Shiv is a waste of energy. You spec into poisons so poisons stack up in no time. Anyone who shivs has no idea what they are doing.

I'm guessing you are a rogue...
If you trinket my cheapshot what will you do? Most likely trinket, blind and re-stealth?
Open with a cheapshot and I'd trinket and blind you and restealth and you would be donezo
Open with a garrote I blind you, wait for the bleed to proc stealth and cheapshot before the bleed procs again.
When my kidney punch is about to wear off put a bleed up and dismantle.

Looks like a mage to me, since he mentioned blink.
I pvp on a mage and paladin. If Im dueling a rogue on my pally I just lol kill you cause pallies are basically rogues hard counter. On my mage I wait for the cheapshot to go for trinket or blink -> Blow mirror images, pom a dot onto you and get my elem up, if your still on me, iceblock until my armor is back up then cancel it and re-armor up. By the that time the mirror images and elem will have you hurting and I can kite you to death and my blink is probarbly back up or cold snap a new ice block and elem. My only point was if your trying to get a full stun lock it makes more sense to save cheap shot for the death. The damage and stuns from a gouge/kick/garrote cycle is enough pressure to get them to blow their cooldowns like blink and trinket and mirror images. Just keep on them with that stuff then vanish-> cheapshot --> finish them after you have them out of tricks. Opening with cheapshot is just a waste of a stealth and energy cause you know im going to survive it and you could have put some hurting on me instead.

Think they're referring to you not mentioning Vanish before this:

I like opening with Ambush > Mutilate > Kidney Shot against cloth sometimes. Most people expect a Garrote or Cheap Shot, and by the time they realize they're not stunned or silenced, Ambush and Mutilate will have eaten up a nice chunk of their HP if both crit and finishing them off usually isn't too difficult.
Mage vs. rogue can usually go either way though. I have an 80 of both and unless one has cooldowns up and the other doesn't, the fights are usually pretty close regardless of who wins.

Shiv is worth using because it is an automatic wound posion when it's needed. You don't use it in your rotation, you use it when it's needed. ZOMG wound posions on more than 1 target that's umpossible?! Make the healer work while your team is cleaving it up, you can easily drop a shiv on more than one target between lock down duty.

Yah I know...whats your point? Its still pointless to open with it. It's good to use on the team mate sometimes as well, then they get the choice of eating the full sap or trinketing while their partner gets worked. If they trinket they left themselves open to becoming the bitch, if they ate it chances are their partner is biting the pillow. Again, it's situational.

My post clearly said vanish > cheapshot once youve got your opponents cooldowns popped. I guess if you read like half the post you could get that impression but whatever at least someone got what I said.
You pretty much summed feeling the same way I feel about rogues. It seems better to pop out and put some damage and pressure in then throw needless stuns in the beginning wasting energy and time. Once they feel the pressure and blow some of their defensive cooldowns then a cheapshot opening makes sense to me because the stun might actually stick in a critical moment. That was the only point I was trying to convey.

Vanish wasn't mentioned til later, and nobody here reads full posts.
Aside from all that though,

Plus once they see such a huge chunk of their HP disappear almost instantly, a lot of people tend to panic and do something stupid, making the fight even easier. Not opening with cheap shot or garrote like they usually expect you to can fuck them up even more.
For example, the other day I ambushed a warlock, and in response he popped his trinket. That was good stuff. Probably a shitty player, but was still funny.

Which lets me line up swarm and moonfire, which once you used CoS you can't dump.
Edit; I also usually throw in the second FF after your 5 secs are up.

I'd be vanishing before CoS ends.
Not that any of that matters, because I'll just use this if I get into real trouble:

I tried a mixed spec pvping awhile back. I couldn't ever get the rotations as down as much as I'd have liked, but I did alright with a mix of resto/feral and a few points in balance.
edit to add: One of the best pvpers I ever saw was a mixed spec like that and he inspired me to try it. He'd be running around, like 5 or 6 folks chasing and dpsing him and he'd go through forms and spells like you cannot imagine. I could just imagine him laughing at the pathetic attemps folks in the BG were making at taking him down (he ultimately led them to two hidden rogues and it was all over).

If someone is willing to spend that much time conditioning their asshole to be stretched out to such epic proportions, or can willingly suck on old wrinkly penor, they probably have a pretty resilient stomach and would be immune to the barfing effects of 2g1c.
