DHL has a large presence overseas from what I remember, that might be a solid route.

I always used fedex. If you go to their website they have commercial invoice packets that make the paper work alot easier to fill out and all that bullshit if you doing this for a company. They also ship faster than DHL in my experience which was important because at the time I was shipping tissue samples on dry ice which was a paper work /logistical nightmare. All in all fed-ex was just better in every imaginable way than any other shipping company I ever used.

International shipping is a bitch. We usually only have to ship to Canada where I work, but its a lot of paper work and way too expensive. Receiving international shipments usually isn't too bad as long as you pay the right people (customs brokers).

Fedex doesn't lose shit. Period. That said, I have limited experience with DHL, but the experience I had was awesome. As long as they give you a tracking number and a guaranteed date, I think you're pretty solid.

A good friend of mine once had a bong shipped from the Netherlands. The shipping invoice claimed it was an "acrylic flower vase." Customs opened it and let it through. There was even a note saying it had been inspected. Gave my friend a laugh.

haha @ perfume. bastard.

Fedex lost DNA samples from my brothers lab going to prague on a "ASAP" shipment. Kinda shitty as now they have to redo a bunch of experiments to get the same results (which is why science research is so fucking expensive, blame fedex)

It's just some clothing ~$50. I cant imagine paying more than that to ship it. I was kinda hoping for something like $25. Jesus.

Your brothers lab needs more oversight. If I ever put a DNA sample in a box, taped it and shipped it overseas without a backup I would be fired even if it made it safely.

Ended up costing $13.

Flat rate boxes ftw.

$25 to ship something that weighs nothing seems reasonable. I am not looking for overnight, two day, or even 3/4 days.. 10-15 is fine.

g++, a student who came over from europe was there for 5 weeks or so, and was shipping her shit back to her lab.

Yeah, the USPS can be a pretty nice surprise at times. My in-laws left for India just over a week ago and left us $100 to send a few small items to them in a bit; my husband's figuring they over-estimated and we can keep the change as a gift.
