View Full Version : How common are Invar +2 Claids?
How common are Invar +2 Claids? Are they about as rare as 1x Claids? Or are they sold in a town shop for platinum members or something? Just curious....
not that uncommon or that expensive..

They're much more common than 1x claids in that 1x claids have enchanter's marks, and thus can hit magical creatures, invar claids cannot.
Thanks I appreciate the info. So they are not sold in any shops that you guys know of? I mean game shops not player shops. Are the ones that are currently in circulation the only ones to be found?
Not sold at any NPC shops... 'cept during events.

SOME invar claids DO have an enchanter's mark, making them able to hit magical critters and thus more valuable than normal invar claids. These aren't that common, but it is always a good idea to LOOK at any invar claid just to be sure.
Thanks. So a all true invar claids are +2 right? But only the ones with an enchanters mark are magical and can be used against magical critters?
Someone told me that the ones that are non magical can shatter when used against magical critters. Are those that shatter still +2?

Yes, invar is naturally +2, so it can not have a mark and still be +2
Shattering is only a term used when breakage is in question. Since breakage was rebutted the moment it was brought back several years ago, it's moot.
Now, if it's non-magical, go try to swing it at a crystal/steel golem. If you hit it, it's magical. If you get 'you swing, but it has no effect' it's non-magical. Good hunting!
Edit: Please note, there are different types of invar claidhmores. There's 0x non-magical, +2 non-magical, and +2 magical. Be wary when being told just because it's invar, it has to be +2. Test it out. Be sure! Good luck.

No, some creatures make your weapon shatter if you attack them with a weapon that does not have an enchanters mark.
Yeah but I don't hunt those. Har.
