Hey guys,

I haven't played Gemstone in quite a while and I was thinking of rolling up a brand new rogue. I've been reading a lot so I have a few questions.

1) It seems the primary reason that people avoid low strength heroes like the plague is due to encumbrance issues. Assuming I can put up with the encumbrance is the negative AS going to be a huge issue later?

2) Is it possible to use the "cut throat" CMAN on a larger race if you're a dwarf, halfling, forest gnome, burghal gnome, or dwarf?

That's all my questions for now but I'm sure I'll come up with more later. I greatly appreciate any response I can get from you guys.

Thanks.

As long as you plan out your stat growth so strength is high later, the difference it'll make in your AS will not be the end of the world. If you're going archery it will make a big difference in your RT (which is a much bigger deal than a few points of AS).

Thanks a lot. Is there a general consensus on the most mechanically sound rogue race? Also, if anyone could answer the cut throat question I'd appreciate it.

Will you be picking any pockets?

you can, I think there is just a penalty to cut-throating them. Unless it's for RP/CvC cutthroat is pretty worthless though. I'd rather hit them in the head than worry about a fumble in combat.

Cut throat does look cool!

cutthroat is useless unless you're using it against other player characters. Against critters, it's a useless maneuver. This from me, the CUTTHROAT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!
