Kali (aka GM Aelsidhe) Rally:
The House of the Arcane Masters wishes to extend an invitation to the 2010 Kali Sablefen Memorial Ranger Rally, coinciding with the 19th anniversary of House Arcane, on January 16th. The Rally will begin at 4:00PM Eastern, and consist of a series of clues leading participants to various locations in the Wehnimer's Landing environs. The winner of the Rally will be entitled to a 7x enchant, courtesy of master wizard Rtune of House Arcane, along with an alteration of the item being enchanted. Silver prizes will also be awarded to other top placers.
Following the Rally, at 5:00PM Eastern, House Arcane will hold a remembrance and memorial ceremony in honor of the ranger Kali, and unveil work commissioned in her memory. All are welcome to attend, and House Arcane wishes to specially encourage those who hold personal memories of our dear friend, as we will be sharing stories afterwards.
More information will be posted as the event draws nearer.

We did a dry run last night and had a blast, good clues and locations.
Funny, since he had not read the answers, Tagg was 'it'. Only one place took him more than a couple minutes to figure out. No, I am not telling - show up! All places are in/near the Landing.

We'll also be unveiling a Kali memorial, which I personally think is pretty great. And, if that's not enough to entice you, you'll get to hear Kerl sing!

Kali the ranger is one of the most beloved players that Gemstone has ever seen. It is hard to speak about her and give her justice, but we will attempt to do just that in a few days. As a player, she was all that the Mentor organization aspires to be when helping a new player, and always a consummate roleplayer with a wicked sense of humor. As a member of the Gemstone staff, she was just as well known for her commitment and dedication to the game with a spirit that burned brightly. When her player passed on, the Gemstone community lost one of our finest.
In previous years, House Arcane has held the Kali Sablefen Memorial Ranger Rally in honor of one of our most loved members, and we're proud to be reviving it now. With much assistance from Xynwen, we hope to have an event worth remembering. If you knew Kali, come and remember her with us. If you didn't know her, come and learn a bit about this remarkable person -- and perhaps win something as well.
The Rally itself will begin at 4:00PM Eastern. To participate, please come to the House of the Arcane Masters at the easternmost end of the North Ring Road. The gate will be open, and we'll be gathering in the foyer -- come right in!
The Rally will consist of ten clues, presented in sequential order, leading to various locations around the Landing environs. As each location is found, the next clue will be available there, along with a token to collect. If a player is having difficulty locating a particular location, we will provide additional hints for a time penalty. None of the locations are in particularly dangerous areas, but players may need to pass critters and skill checks to reach each one.
The clues have been designed to present a mix of problems: some are historical, some are exploratory, some are simply based on local geography. We've purposefully put the locations together so that even the most jaded of Landing residents should have to explore a bit, but knowing the Landing area well will certainly better your chances. If you wish to prepare, I suggest taking note of as many local landmarks as possible -- castles, caves, villages, bodies of water, hills and mountains, places of power, and the like. If you know about such things, clues may fall into place immediately for you.
First prize will be a full 7x enchant (or as close as the starting numerical bonus allows us to come) for an item of your choice, though bear in mind that it may take quite some time to complete depending on what enchant the item starts at. Additionally, a custom alteration for said item will be allowed. Second and third prize will be silver (exact amounts to be announced at the start of the Rally).
Teams are allowed, but bear in mind that the clues are presented in order -- therefore a team may have no advantage over a single person. Any prizes awarded are split up between the team members as they desire.
Following the Rally, at 5:00PM Eastern, there will be a brief house tour. If you've ever been curious about what the inside of one of the oldest houses looks like, now is your chance to find out. We will then hold a ceremony in remembrance of Kali, and unveil certain new work commissioned in her memory. We hope all that participate in the Rally itself will remain for the ceremony, but we also hope many more will join us at this time as well. If you have personal memories of Kali, bring them along to share with everyone; there will be a time for that at the end.
If there are any questions, please feel free to ask.
Thank you,
-Grendeg, on behalf of the House of the Arcane Masters
and for those who do not care for Grendeg,

It'd be nifty if Arcane could put a Kali memorial in a public park or something like that. Something along the lines of the park that Brigatta recently developed on their property. That way non-members could pay their respect any ol' time through the year.

Anyone with a hankering for exploration should have found that cat already Askip, bagged or not. It's been there for what, at least a year? We certainly dropped enough hints.
Sometimes those who discover things deserve to enjoy their discovery like a jelously guarded personal secret, before sharing with the rest of the world.
I'm going to try and attend but I'm driving up to Tampa, I might be able to get back by 5, we'll see. I've been once or twice before and it was good times.
