anyone know if the benefit from cman sidebyside increases with more than one sidebyside companion?
i.e. if I'm with 2 other characters with side by side, do I get twice the benefit?

The CMAN is supposed to actually work best when used in conjunction with others who have the skills, with an additive effect. I imagine there are caps, but I would also imagine the benefit of 3 people using side-by-side is pretty nice.
I just wish they would open up the skill to everyone.

It increases with more characters trained in SbS in the group.
It also increases fractionally with the number of people in the group, SbS or not.
(It also appears to increase based on cman training of the non SbS people)
It's something that's never been researched fully, as the variables are numerous and takes a lot of people.

If I ever group-hunted on a regular basis, I'd definitely train SbS. As it stands, though, I do almost everything solo.

SbS is perfect for non-solo (or MA) warcamp (and now adv I guess) hunting.

I might have to look into getting this, I love to group hunt.

I had it when warcamps first were released. I remember tanking up for the first 5-6 camps and still being surprised at my higher than normal AS. Then I remembered I had gotten a few ranks of SbS for hunting with the farmer's wife way back when.

True. I do camps solo, too, though.

With a decent group actually a pretty handy bonus.

The AS boost doesn't apply to some situations, IIRC. I know it definitely didn't apply when multistriking.

When last I used it it applied when mstriking during a berserk.
:D
Berserkers do have a bad tendency of running off however.

so it works while berserking but not for regular mstrike?
Odd. And Shitty.

I last played with it 4 years ago, so there's an outside chance they tweaked it since. A small, miniscule, outside chance.

Bring it up on the boards. Oscuro may be able to make a quick tweak/correction.

And while we're at it, someone please repeat the request to open that skill up to all professions. It is retarded that the one CMAN that actually encourages group hunting is limited by profession.

Here is what I have discovered with side by side. I'm a 66 warrior, and my hunting partner is a 56 ranger. He has rank 5 side by side, I have rank 4. Warrior is double trained in CMAN, and ranger is close to double trained in CMAN.
At rank 4, the warrior gets +12 AS when grouped with the ranger. This works out to +3 AS per rank. I imagine that if I had rank 5 SBS, I would get +15 AS.
At rank 5, the ranger gets +10 AS when grouped with the warrior. This works out to +2 AS per rank.
I am on Teras - Bumpur. If anyone else wants to do some SBS testing to establish some definitive numbers on SBS with larger groups, I'm available.
As a person who groups ALL the time while hunting, SBS is well worth it.
