Looks like it crashed pretty hard. Prime, Plat, and the Login are all down, as well as Play.net

Yeah. I got reports of my char dying, about 20 minutes after I crashed. 4x claid mattock, what!?!

how did you get reports from other people about dying.....if the game crashed :P

As far as I can tell everyone in Plat got booted.

Announcement: The Internet is severely unstable into and out of the offices, so we're taking the games down proactively to prevent anything major from happening. We'll be back up as soon as things stabilize. Hopefully this will be soon.

>

Announcement: Please gather your things and log out, or at least get to a safe spot outside of any hunting areas.

Yup down and out with a table full of OTF boxes in the process of being picked all over the floor ... nice one Simu.

P.S I certainly didn't get the warning message.

I had a friend in game that got this message:

Yeah "Rogane just bit the dust" was the last thing I saw before my idle account crashed.

edit: right before that Announcement that is.

I never got a message. Luckily I was makin' dinner, so I was resting.

So if they took down the game themselves, no time warp?

WRoss
12-09-2009, 06:49 PM
I'm sure they'll timewarp with something as substantial as this. They are allready teatering on the edge. A few GMs read here anyways. Just comment here if you'd quit if you lost items due to them being ass hats and not timewarping to fix a problem.

I never saw the message either. But this is the email from bubba on the e-mail list:

Something is causing problems with our Internet connectivity into and
out of the office. To prevent potential problems with evil critters
(who happen to be telnetting in) killing you, we've taken the games
down. We'll be back up as soon as we diagnose the problem and/or get
an all-clear from our ISP.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yeah, just checked my log from before I got booted...never got the Announcement warning.

What if we did lose something? I had some items in a disk, will we get them back? And what is timewarping?

Morrff

should get items replaced because "SIMU" brought the game down. They cannot state that it wasn't their downtime this time. Though it may have been needed to reduce the number of problems. They still took it upon themselves to shut it down. Thus it's on them this time.

I also got no warning message as well as 2 other people I know didn't

EDIT: Play.net's up but cannot stay logged IG, I CAN log in just not stay

Here are instructions on what not to do, if you lose an item:

WHAT NOT TO DO

-After the game host tells you that they are unsure, ensue in calling them a wanker that only eats the mayonnaise off flesh flavored fries.
-Promise the GM, who so nicely is helping you, the recipe to a cheese steak that would help shape the lard in their thunder thighs to make their "King Nothing" throne more comfortable
-Most importantly, never quote any policy. I assure you that this will only result in you reading policy in a prison, unable to report, and thus remain at the mercy of the GMs

I always thought item removal due to crashes and SIMU disconnects was a feature.

This thread vaguely reminded me of the AOL GS chatroom after a crash.

Game's up, per Itzel there are no updates other than what has already been posted in here. I don't know what's going on with their ISP.
