Just bought this mithril claidhmore and I get this message when I try to swing it.

You attempt to attack a giant rat with your mithril claidhmore, but it resists, preventing you from completing the maneuver.

Bonded to someone else? If so, how do I fix this?

Sounds like it's bonded to Seckara!

I'd assist on it and see if a GM can remove it.

have a paladin cast their bonding spell on it. Should break it. problem is finding one that doesn't want to mess up their current bond.

paladin bond shouldnt clear a warrior one though, or never used to

hmmm... maybe paladin bond breaks another paladin's, but not warrior. There was some trick to it. Ask on the officials

Originally only way to clear a warrior one was for the warrior to bond to a new weapon.

GM's won't touch it. Hopefully the person I just bought this from will get it worked out/unbonded.

Ugh. That's crap. The GM's should put in a place to unbond weapons (or some kind of quest ala the katana quest).

What happens if the person who bonded the weapon is no longer around?

I feel for you kgolfer and I hope you get it sorted out.

If you can't get it taken care of, look me up at Longshot69596 on AIM. I'll be around Saturday.

I'm not currently bound to a weapon. I've not tried to unbond someone else's weapon but I'll give it a shot.

I've got a warrior with only a low rank on a maul that won't take long to reset, or a paladin with no bonded weapon. We can try it right now if you want.

First, thank you to Belnia. He was able to unbond my claid with his Paladin tonight. I can now swing it. Second, thank you to everyone else for the thoughts on how to unbond the claid.

GMs not removing bonding was intentional, it was a feature of the warrior cman, added to prevent theft. course with far smaller population its far less of an issue, glad you got it resolved.
