anyone have a list? I just shattered an altered weapon, and luckily had it replaced....but besides the gargoyles, is there a list of creatures that will do this? It seems kinda lame, but i'd prefer this not happen again...

Magru
That seems stupid. They are just a moving pile of jelly

there is a one time replacement option? I heard it is GM discretion, luckily i had a kind and merciful GM.
anyway, do magru really destroy your weapon? this sucks, i wish i could just get this claid enchanted..

and?
Talisker is, in my experience, the most fair of all the GMs. He is pretty reasonable when it comes to replacing things.

I thought Magru just couldn't be hit with a weapon.

I understand fairness and such, but, I believe he was hunting gargoyles with the knowledge they broke weapons?
And even if he didnt - why impliment such a system in a game, if you're willing to simply replace broken weapons.
But otherwise, grats on getting it back. I'm not really trying to be an ass, just dont understand it fully.

What about magic metals that don't have an enchanters mark? Can they still break? And if you enchant said metal item with premie points does that add an enchant mark?

This was the same question I had when I owned a rolaren claidh without the mark. Could never find an answer and wouldn't risk it.
It's one of those things nobody really wants to test, so even if they may very well be safe from being shattered, it's not worth the off chance they can.

I have a golvern lance I use but I was getting conflicting answers on how it would fare on stone gargoyles so I've just been using a cheaper unbonded drakar lance for the time being. :(

Magic metals usually don't have enchanter's marks, but are safe.

Magru can only be hit with blunts.

i knew about the gargoyles, but being away from the game for a year, i pretty much forgot at that time. besides, isn't invar magic? Oh well. anyway, what other creatures will shatter a weapon?

Invar is not magical. It's just a dwarven steel.

man do you guys remember waaay back in the day how much money you could make on magru?
I used to hunt them on my sorc, and would make a fortune in gems. Sometimes they'd drop 3-4 high quality gems each.
I miss those days.
