The PC as a GS marketplace

The Players Corner to me, is a response to the oppresiveness of the official boards, there are a lot of issues with the way disputes are handles on the officials and how the one overarching factor is that you cannot name anyone specifically in a grievance.

Reawing posted some info in the respond to rep thread today about how he got neg repped for shitting on another merchant, setting aside the fact that it's seriously stupid to complain about rep comments, I think the point is that here at the PC we can shit on merchants. You cannot slander on the officials, based in fact or not.

Personally I'm a shitty buyer, I bid on low end shit and often take about a week, sometimes more to take delivery (I always try to square things away w/ the sellers, and they've all been understanding). Now Reawing might just be one person, and he was sort of backed by Briarfox, and the issue could all just be misunderstandings on all sides of the fence over Beldonn's merchanting, but the info should be out there.

as there is no way to really know who the good merchants and who the bad ones are (heh, other then the PC mob that erupts in the bad one's threads... and the boobs that are posted in the good one's threads).

Just something I was thinking about...

This would be a good idea but I think this thread should be stickied instead. And I think Cel should edit and update the OP on a regular basis to list the merchants, separate lists for the good and the bad, that people recommend or warn against.

Every merchant I have dealt with aside from this incident has gone flawlessly. I could probably round up 10 people to say I don't screw around in deals. I just didn't want to get blacklisted from buying and selling over this stupid crap that was pulled in the auction in question.

I agree with you, I often don't read the play.net marketplace. Almost every purchase I've made for GS has been on here. I've made maybe 1 big purchase because of the Simu boards. Also I almost never post my sales on the simu boards, I know this is true for other people as well. I generally find people off the PC are more professional and knowledgeable than someone off the Simu board.

Yes. I've probably done this a couple of times before, it's just hard to keep up with previous threads there. Much easier on the PC.

Besides him trying to sell me items that don't exist, trying to sell silvers that don't exist, saying he'll purchase items without having the money, I don't think there have been any issues.

The one expensive purchase I've ever made was from Stunseed. And he was good people. Responsive, explanatory, and made sure everything was kosher afterwords.

The care a merchant takes with the person spending only a little bit of money says more for the merchant than if it were someone spending huge sums. I think anyway.
