So, JFK was assassinated today 46 years ago.

I don't know why, but I am absolutely enthralled learning about this. I remember in Ireland, whenever I could get to a computer lab I would spend it watching the Zapruder film.

Anyway, today they had a lot of specials on about it. Granted, I didn't get to see them all, but what I did see was intriguing. Particularly, the conspiracy that the mob killed JFK. After watching that, I was nearly convinced. They found ties between almost everyone involved with a few certain godfather's. One godfather even admitted to having Kennedy whacked in the 80's while in prison.

Then I saw an episode where these guys recreated the scene with "real" human heads -- I mean, they pinpointed everything exactly to that day and tested with a real sniper to see if it was possible for more than one shooter. They checked where the brain matter landed if they shot it from the front or the side.

I just saw an enlarged version of the Zapruder film that made Gemstone's head crit "brain matter" sentence come to life in more ways than one.

I was not old enough to be alive when Kennedy was shot, but some of you were. First of all, I want to know what you were doing when you heard he died. Second of all, I want to know who you think killed him and if there was more than one culprit.

Even though I wasn't alive, it still saddens me. I hate Jack Ruby. I wanted to see what Oswald would have said had he lived for more than two days after being caught.

I think he's 44 or so.

Also, I am pretty sure Barack Obama killed JFK.

Listen, Barack is Irish, and no way an Irishman killed JFK.

My mother was 1 (happened the day of her first birthday party). I was nowhere near alive.

I think the butler did it. The butler always fucking does it.

Before reading too much pro/anti-conspiracy material it's good to get a sound foundation in the basics of skepticism and critical thinking. For many topics it also helps to be somewhat versed in statistics and know the basics about what constitutes a good scientific study. A lot of spreaders of mis/disinformation tend to be quite good and cherry picking shitty studies.

Some keywords being: grand conspiracy, confirmation bias, anomaly hunting, issues with the human memory, logical fallacies, trends in scientific literature, James Randi.

STFU, everyone knows unicorns have an unbreakable allegiance with NPH, and there's no way NPH would be involved in JFK's assassination.

I can't believe you didn't know NPH stood for Neil Patrick Harris, silly woman.

Even I know that. And I have the pop culture knowledge of a mountain man.

No, common mistake. The PH in NPH stands for Poon Handler.

I was in the first grade.

They made an announcement and we were sent home early. The only thing I can really remember is that my teacher, Ms. Keenan, couldn't keep it together (she was crying uncontrollably) and another teacher (I think Ms. Lewis but I could be making that up) came in and got us ready to get on the bus.

After we saw the funeral on TV our class (like many others) wrote letters to Caroline and John Jr.
