CT's hippo post led me to this.

Pretty fucking cool shit.

Paul Nicklen describes his most amazing experience as a National Geographic photographer - coming face-to-face with one of the arctic's most vicious predators.
Not only did he get to swim and take photos of a 12-foot leopard seal in the Antarctic (and didn’t get eaten), he was actually "adopted" by it!

you know some dumbshit will claim to be adopted by XYZ animal at the zoo, climb the fence, get eaten, and get the poor animal shot.

Cool stuff (sort of reminds me of when I climbed the fence and got eaten at the zoo by a ten-foot capybara and the park rangers shot him.)
