I have three player-written books that are probably close to 10 years old. They can be opened and read. I'm not setting a price on these because I'm sure they are priceless to some and worthless to others. IM GSSithar for more information or to talk about offers.
Also have a crystal and veniom tome case for the first purchaser. The case holds a single book and is not wearable.
A greyish-blue scale-embossed book
>l book
The fine greyish-blue leather of the front cover bears the embossed image of a pair of scales in perfect balance. Pieces of inlaid emerald depict a living grass snake in the left pan, while tiny pieces of chalcedony depict a snake's coiled skeleton in the right pan. The spine of the book has been textured in a pattern akin to the scales on the living grass snake. Narrow lettering engraved beneath the scales reads, "On the Balance of Life and Unlife, As Theorized by Nevrek Araknathalin Faendryl".
A pearlescent garnet-inlaid tome
>l tome
Lengths of white pumahide connect the hammered vultite covers, and pearl dust clinging to the vultite causes the silvery metal to shimmer slightly. Pieces of deep red garnet have been set into the polished vultite to form the image of a thorny rose twining about a dagger-pierced heart. Slanting script engraved below the design reads, "Mularos: A Study of the Arkati and His Religion." Beneath the title, slightly smaller script reads, "By Tierus Morvaenus".
An ice grey glaes-surfaced volume
>l vol
Light penetrates the surface of the grey glaes cover deeply enough to show the variations between translucency and opacity in the volcanic material. The smoke-grey mithril spine has been engraved with a complex pattern of swirls and spirals, and a stylized dagger-pierced heart has been etched at the midpoint of the design. Across the front, the pale glaes bears the engraved words, "An Interview with Harith, The Whip of Mularos - Dated The Eighth Day of Eorgaen, 5102".

Subject Gloumerrick's Books (2248)
"When I first met my love, it was..."
"This is why the Order of Voln should be supported..."
"The most deadly beast in Elanthia is..."
"What sorrowing shadow rises so dark above the starlit hills?..."
Leave a permanent mark on Elanthia-- and have a book that's more than just a prop! Gloumerrick Mithril-beard of the Mithrenek Clan, a dwarven scribe and bookbinder, will put your words into a limited-edition volume that you and other collectors can purchase for only 50,000 silver per copy. They will be masterfully bound, beautifully illuminated, and crafted in such a way that you can READ the words on each page. Neither the library of Ta'Illistim nor the GemStone website will house these volumes; they will be only for your own personal enjoyment and the enjoyment of all others who purchase a copy. Although there will be no complimentary copies available to authors, you will receive 5000 silver if anyone else purchases a copy of your volume, which will be sent by runner to your bank account. You do not need to be present in game to receive this dividend.
Poetry, prose, fiction, or Elanthian fact are all acceptable; let your imagination run wild! Moreover, Gloumerrick is familiar with the dwarven languages and with Saramar runes as well as being familiar with Common, so, if you wish your volume to be written in the language of the giantkin or the dwarves instead of in Common, put this information at the TOP of the manuscript. Elven languages and the halfling language are unknown to Gloumerrick, and she will not take the time to hire translators.
The window of availability is very, very slim. If you would like to be part of this endeavor, then you must e-mail your manuscript in a text format (no Microsoft Word documents, please!) to GS3-JHARRA@PLAY.NET by 8:00 PM EST on Friday, January 17 (that only gives you three days!) with the subject heading "GLOUMERRICK'S BOOKS - [character], [account name]" where [account name] is the name of your account and [character] is the name of the character submitting the manuscript.
If all goes well, Gloumerrick will visit Ta'Illistim to sell her wares on Sunday, January 19, followed by visits to Wehnimer's Landing and River's Rest. The dates of her visits to Wehnimer's and River's Rest will be posted in her wagon in Ta'Illistim, as will the times at which she will be available to hand-sell manuscripts.
Here are the rules...
1. One submission per account.
2. All submissions must be 4,000 characters long or less. Spaces ARE included in the character count.
3. All manuscripts must be fully IC and appropriate to the family enviroment of GemStone III (treat it as a PG-13 rating.)
4. No game secrets may be revealed.
5. No manuscript may discuss other player characters by name in a negative or derogatory fashion.
6. All manuscripts must be officially "authored" by one of the characters on your account, and the book will list its author upon publication. Also, the manuscript must be your original, personal work. The consequence for plagarism will be dire (trust me, I mean it.)
7. Copies of all volumes will be available for purchase by anyone interested. You cannot prevent anyone from purchasing your book.
8. Collaborations are acceptable, so long as at least one of the authors has not submitted a separate solo manuscript. Make sure that the subject heading on the email has the account name of the author who has NOT submitted anything yet if one of you will be publishing a solo piece as well as a manuscript. This holds true as well for manuscripts submitted by organizations.
9. As a general rule, I will not fix your spelling or grammar. Please check it in advance.
10. If you aren't able to attend the merchant to receive a copy of your book, send a friend to buy it for you. There is no guarantee that Gloumerrick will return beyond these three visits, and she will not track you down to make sure you have a copy of your book.
11. The appearance of the exterior of your book and the fashion in which each page is printed are solely up to Gloumerrick.
12. Gloumerrick (Jharra) has the last say on acceptability. Period.
Every manuscript that is not submitted in time or that does not comply with the rules will be REJECTED. Period. If you submit an unacceptable manuscript prior to 4 PM EST on Friday, January 17, you will receive a short note explaining why your manuscript was rejected and giving you a chance to fix the problems. No manuscripts will be accepted past 8:00 PM on Friday, January 17.

If anyone wants to make some reasonable buyout offers (I'm thinking 500k each or 1m for the set) please go right ahead and IM GSSithar or PM me here.
In the meantime, since all three books have received bids, I will resign myself to conducting this sale auction-style.

You put the buyout way too low, and could have gotten a lot more for them. I know I'm kicking myself for not just PMing you instead of looking for you to show up on AIM.
You can of course write your own book now.
