As my first FPS I've ever played on a console...I am still getting the hang of using like five buttons to aim and fire my weapons, but I really like this game for the PS3.

It actually reminds me of Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra. One of my all time favorite games from back in the day when Macs still had games. All the items you found in that game were randomly generated. They would have +'s and -'s and the names would reflect that. It tremendously improved the replay value since you could always come back and get a completely different load out as you progressed through the game. Borderlands is almost identical, except instead of fantasy weaponry...it is actual weaponry, or at least cobbled together futuristic weaponry.

I've played two characters to about level 20 so far (there are 4 different classes, so I'm not sure which one I want to take to the endgame yet...I have to say I'm much more enamored with the hunter than the Soldier), and I've had a blast.

There are a few bugs, mostly audio based, at the moment, but nothing has broken the game for me yet. I'd recommend it if you like games like Diablo or older randomly generated item games.

It was fun for a bit, but I got bored with it quickly. No local multiplayer for the PC. :(

I'm enjoying it. I can see where someone would get bored, but if you progress, there are new enemies that come out, new towns well spaced, etc. Hell, I just got my first eridian weapon- that was new. Didn't realize that there were eridian weapons in the game, and I'm level 25.

I lucked out, though, and got a 278/38 shield when I was around level 10. Made a big difference.

Playing a hunter. I went the sniper route, but I'm thinking I might switch over to gunslinger. I really like revolvers. I just found a stash that do ~250 dam, in different elements- gotta wait a level before I get to use them, though. My last one (62 dam, incendiary), was fucking up shit as it was.

It has its flaws, but so far it's quite enjoyable. The battles with Skagzilla and Mothrakk were something else. Skagzilla was pretty easy, but long. Mothrakk killed me 4 times at the cost of about 20k. Then I hid under the car park and that worked.

*Shrug* I like it.

I haven't found any uber stuff during my two half-playthroughs. I was a little peeved that the two first purple items I got were the exact same ones I got in my first play through. I guess there is some stability. I would have thought those items should be white or green though.

One of the things I don't really like is the backpack size limitation in the early game. Sometimes I find something pretty good that won't unlock till level 17 or something, but keeping it in my inventory for 6 levels is rough until you start getting Claptrap missions that open more slots. I am going to try using Brick this weekend and then move to Siren at the end and then make a decision who I want to go to the end with.

I would have liked to play this on the PC and use a mouse instead of this ridiculous console FPS targeting mechanism...but it seems like PC versions of most games these days are just an afterthought. I figured it was about time for me to move on to where my friends have been playing for the past few years.

I'm tempted to buy it on the basis of being able to justify working "Skagzilla" into every conversation.
