silly question but how do you tell if an item is an enhancive? what verb or whatever?

The most effective way to find an items properties is to have a bard sing to it. Otherwise, taking the item to a local Adventurer's Guild treasure master and using ORDER 5 will tell you if it's enhancive; if it is, the treasure master will either quote you a recharging price or he'll tell you that it's already fully charged.
