You nock a spiraled faewood-shafted arrow in your sephwir recurve longbow.
A subtle swirling blue light glints off the tip of a spiraled faewood-shafted arrow, leaving a faint trail as it travels through the air.
You fire a spiraled faewood arrow at a fire mage!
AS: +364 vs DS: +327 with AvD: +25 + d100 roll: +41 = +103
... and hit for 1 point of damage!
Thrust catches chin.
Leaves an impression but no cut.

** As your faewood arrow hits a fire mage, it gives off a cold blast! **
... 70 points of damage!
Belly is now a block of ice. So much for breakfast!

[You have 11 kills remaining.]

The fire mage looks upon you with utter hatred. Flames shoot from his eyes and engulf you!
... 10 points of damage!
Burst of flames to left hand burns fingers bright red.

The fire mage goes limp and he falls over as the fire slowly fades from his eyes.
The fire mage no longer bristles with energy.
A fire mage glances around, looking a bit less confident.
The glowing specks of energy surrounding a fire mage suddenly shoot off in all directions, then quickly fade away.
The tingling sensation and sense of security leaves a fire mage.
The brilliant luminescence fades from around a fire mage.
A fire mage appears somehow different.
A fire mage becomes solid again.
The bright luminescence fades from around a fire mage.
The shimmering multicolored sphere fades from around a fire mage.
The silvery luminescence fades from around a fire mage.
The translucent sphere fades from around a fire mage.
A fire mage no longer seems distracted.
The faewood arrow ricochets away from a fire mage, landing nearby.
Roundtime: 4 sec.

Well placed shot pierces knee, that hurt!
A fire mage screams and falls to the ground!

** As your faewood arrow hits a fire mage, it gives off a cold blast! **
... 55 points of damage!
Fatal strike to the left eye! Brain frozen and so is the fire mage!

Minor burns to right eye. You blink back the tears.

Lacking the force and angle to lodge in a fire mage, the faewood arrow simply falls.

I like my arrows too!

411 works wonders on 1 coin arrows!

I am not even bothering fletching this time around, I'm so done with that useless crap

Yah, it is pretty nice. 6x bow, e-blade, you have flaring arrows that are damn near free.

I don't really see the difference between this quiver and just buying arrows at the fletcher and eblading them, though. It's why I wasn't all that interested in it. The one upside would be if you could pour holy oil on the quiver, or invoke Bless from a scroll, and bless your own ammo.

There are some non-standard flares you can put on them, ie unbalance, etc.

The e-blade flares from arrows are pathetic. Even against creatures weak against certain elements.

So far I've tried fire, ice, acid, lightning, void, impact, unbalance.. I use symbol of blessing for undead. Still trying to get disintegration to work and have no idea where to get disruption (not sure if I can)... I haven't tried to add poison.

Hmmm, I suppose the upside is that you can have any flare you want, anytime you want it, and for as long as you want it since the arrows never lose their charge. Fletching 100 custom arrows in 1 minute isn't bad either.

The absolute best part about the quiver is that it was basically free since I dug all my coins out of the ground, hehe. The best part about the arrows is that they look a LOT nicer than anything you'll get out of any shop :D

You would think having the spiral shaft it's flares would be drilling deeper into the target opening a wound and making it bleed out.

It's sort of like how my rent is free because I get all of my money by doing my job.

The downside to digging it up, is that if it's a minor one, not like the one auctioned. It will stop working after I think, 200...or 500 arrows.

Once that happens, its a bitch to find a merchant to fix those mechanical things.

To top it all, I could care less if my e-blade flares are weak, cause I crit mostly in one shot, and I'm sure Akoe does or will once she gets older given she is using a Sephwir bow, by that time flares are utterly useless period.

She used the coin from selling her SD arms(dug up) to buy the one from the auction(quiver). Glad to see your enjoying it AKOE!.

Ah ok, I thought she bought yours, but her wording was so weird and sounded like she dug up a minor version.

Either or, 50mil was a nice price on your part ;)

The best is that they flare on EVERY shot. I'm not sure 411 does that.

11-30-2009, 09:04 PM
They don't flare on every shot but pretty damn often.

Ahh. Must have a different quiver than mine then. Flare on every single shot except death.
