(CNN) - Was Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's message to state lawmakers unhappy - or obscene?
That's the current debate in California after the governor sent a letter directed to "Members of the California State Assembly" that appeared to have a subtle but pointed message hidden within the text.
The seven-line note in which the California Republican blasts the legislature for not advancing his administration's proposals on a host of issues appears innocuous enough at first glance.
But upon closer examination, the first letter of every line collectively spells 'f**k you'.
A spokesman for Schwarzenegger said the governor had no intent of hiding the message within his note, calling it a mere "coincidence."








Hilarious and awesome if it was an accident or on purpose.

I think the last line of the first paragraph shows that it wasn't an accident. "Kicks the can down the alley" is an awkward metaphor and definitely seems out of place.

Obviously the Governator didn't type this up himself, so I'd guess who ever did write it saw that by coincidence it was close to spelling F-U-C-K Y-O-U and twiddled a couple phrases to complete the message.

This is pretty hysterical. The link below mentions that the lawmaker who sponsored the bill in question -- and who received the veto letter -- had heckled Arnold at a fundraising event earlier in the month and allegedly yelled "You lie!" at him told him to "kiss my gay ass."

Two mathematicians contacted by SF Weekly gave the governor the benefit of the doubt. They assumed that these letters were particularly common word openers, and assigned each a one-in-10 chance of appearing. That improves the probability that the governor's use of raw language was accidental to one in 10 million.

These calculations were intentionally set up to make the strongest possible case for coincidence. But in reality, says Stephen Devlin, a mathematician at the University of San Francisco, coincidence "is very, very, very unlikely."
