Ok, I take a public bus to classes every morning..and I don't normally pay attention to the ad signs on the side of them, but for some reason, one caught my eye today.
"Take the US out of the United Nations! Join up for the Third World War! Why should we live under England rule again?! Join now!" and had a web address.
I'm gonna try to get the exact message and the URL tomorrow (I paraphrased the above).
It was creepy.

i support the former notion of withdrawing from the UN, not the latter... at least not now.
We have ads on our buses but I have no clue how they are approved. So maybe contact the transit agency also and let them know you found the ad disturbing.

Idiots or not, they should be allowed to speak their mind. Refer back to the "censorship" thread and how people thought it wasn't a case of censorship with Stern. Now the FCC is forcing his main employer to fire him. How can people not be outraged about this? Like him or not, I think you should at least be a little concerned with something that violates the constitution. I am so sick of Bush catering to the religious right-wing of this country. This maniac not only needs to go, he needs to be locked up.

Oh please. He can still say whatever the hell he wants, he just can't broadcast it to millions. BFD.

So, when will they fire Pat Robertson and take the 700 club off the air?
Even though it caters to a small, select crowd, who are the only fools who watch it, it offends many people (I'd be willing to bet more people than Howard Stern offends) and is right where our kids can see it, on basic cable! Hell, it's on THE FAMILY CHANNEL!
It's all Brennan, the SC Justice. He said we cannot go down the slippery slope - it's all, or nothing. In this case, it must be all, because the Constitution doesn't allow for nothing.

Personally, I wouldn't mind that either. However, while he offends people, he does it by preaching his (uberperverted) version of Christianity. That's slightly different than playing "Get the answer right or you get groped" with stripers/models/whatever.

One could say Howard Stern is preaching his (uberperverted) version of American culture.
And just like the 700 club, some people who secretly harbor those feelings but normally wouldn't express them, find comfort in it.

I think it is wrong to assume why people listen. Am I a pervert because I like Stern's show? I don't think so. I get extremely annoyed when he goes on and on when a female calls up with his "How big are your breasts? What are you wearing?" questions. However, the rest of his show is actually very sarcastic and funny to me.
And also I'd defend Stern's right to be on the air whether or not I'm a fan.

So do I. I'm not saying all his listeners are perverts, any more than I'm saying all of Robertson's viewers are fanatical, rabid evangilizing morons.
I think they should both be on the air. But, if you're going to take Stern off the air, one has to (from a logical standpoint) question why Robertson is still on the air.

The UN is just a front for American (Western) interests ... to "legitimize" what they're doing in the World, by giving the minor countries "representation".

Wow, for a moment you sounded like a liberal, there, Atlanteax. The difference is, though, a liberal wants to make it truly representative of the world view. ;)

Right... I prefer that it continues to be dominated by the US's view. ;)
