I think I'll order it now. The show was so much funnier than anything else on TV. You have to see the scenes with him and his daughter.

Also, what's with sandbags for flooding when there's this kind of technology? And moonwalks? (because moonwalks are awesome despite lack of aquatic awesomeness.)

So I've been watching Louie on FX, and found the first episodes I saw (#5 and #8) funny with moments of extreme hilarity. The last episode, the bully one, I have no idea wtf is going on anymore. It seemed to intentionally not be funny and in fact be unpleasant and uncomfortable, but was interspersed with stand-up? So is the show intended to be a comedy or is it more whatever Louie feels like doing on any given night? I'm also confused about all the previous episodes now - were they supposed to be funny? I think they were...?

Basically he does each episode for 300k total, which is amazingly cheap for a TV program. FX doesn't tell him anything, they just give him 300k and he can do whatever he likes. That's why it doesn't have the feel of a regular executive driven show.

I love the show. The last episode was definitely uncomfortable. (This isn't a bad thing)

The show is great, and the last episode was still great, despite not having a whole lot of jokes it was hilarious how absurd it was.
