Some really nice looking things going out this year for those who are curious and want a look.

About my only bitch is the two mobile properties are auction only and Simu set a MB on them. But other then that most of the stuff looks great and seems to be a fair split between Token and Silver rooms.

Look, drool, ponder on what you want, think about how to bribe it from someone if you couldn't get a ticket. Some seriously nice stuff for the most part imo.

Moving my questions to this thread, seems like a better place:

What are "Blink Weapons"?
What are "Talking Sword" weapons?
What are Super Bubble Flares?
What is a "Getaway Amulet"?
What is a "Glamour Crystal"?
What's the deal with those "permanent stat enhancive" orbs?
What's the deal with those GoS weapons? Uber vs. hated enemies?
What's the deal with those "Warhorn" items?
"Obelisk of Knowledge"...knowledge of what? I'm curious! :D
What is a "Signature Package"?
"Exploding Mushroom"? I really want to know what that does :)
"Spectacles of Something"? Ha. :D
Aging potion? o.O
"Gloves of Tonis"? "Boots of Tonis"? +Dodging? Haste? AGI/DEX enhancives?

I figure there's plenty of new stuff here, but at least some of these items must be re-releases. On the other hand, I've never been to an auction before, so most of this stuff is totally new to me!

I believe the blink weapons were one of the teasers. They allowed you to transport using the weapon, once or twice? then needed to recharge?

Bubble flares are temporary damage padding, the idea for this was also a teaser, saying it would be 3-4x as strong as existing bubble flares. I wonder if that is the duration,or the amount of padding.

I think the glamour crystal is like the description hiding crystal, the one Tsin was selling for a while.

I believe the blink weapons were one of the teasers. They allowed you to transport using the weapon, once or twice? then needed to recharge?

That would make sense. The teaser was:

>l my axe
A tiny golden eyelid, which is open, is inlaid into the bottom of the pommel.
You see nothing unusual, except for a small enchanter's glyph.
>
>touch my axe
You lightly touch your mithglin battle axe.
>turn axe
As you turn the mithglin battle axe, it appears to slowly scan the room.
>poke axe
You give the golden eye of your mithglin battle axe a solid poke. It blinks shut and with it the world goes black...
You instinctively blink and when you open your eyes, you find your surroundings have changed.
[Lower Dragonsclaw, Forest]
The light dims as you pass beneath the eaves of the forest, with little sun filtering through the canopy formed by the branches of the surrounding fir and pine. There is no discernible path between the closely grown trees and shrubs.
Obvious paths: east, south
>l my axe
A tiny golden eyelid, which is open, is inlaid into the bottom of the pommel.
You see nothing unusual, except for a small enchanter's glyph.
>
[Town Square Central]
This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see some stone benches with some stuff on it.
Obvious paths: northeast, east, southeast, southwest, west, northwest
>poke my axe
You give the golden eye of your mithglin battle axe a solid poke. It blinks shut and with it the world goes black...
You instinctively blink and when you open your eyes, you find your surroundings have changed.
[Town Square, East]
Here in the center of a broad plaza near the commercial area of the bazaar stands the impressive facade of the slate-roofed Moot Hall, where the citizens of Wehnimer's Landing hold various official, religious and social functions. Facing the square are some of the town's more prosperous shops, still doing business with the many customers who still frequent the streets at night. You also see a large wooden barrel.
Obvious paths: north, east, south, west
You notice the golden eye on your mithglin battle axe go red and close tightly.
>l my axe
A tiny golden eyelid, which is closed, is inlaid into the bottom of the pommel.
You see nothing unusual, except for a small enchanter's glyph.

I think the glamour crystal is like the description hiding crystal, the one Tsin was selling for a while.

Yes. Depending on what the crystal looks like is what your figure will look like when its activated.

Tonis Gloves
A forceful squall suddenly shoots through your pale blue gloves, drawing your movements along their intended path!
[Roll result: 134 (open d100: 83) Bonus: 10]
You rush towards a murky soul siphon and connect with a shoulder check!
You manage to knock a murky soul siphon flat on its back!
Roundtime: 5 sec.
Roundtime changed to 3 seconds.

I'm working on getting the list, along with the posted and existing information, on Krakiipedia:

I still have to do the Sunday Silvers room, but that will have to wait until after work.

You move within the AsG class of the armor. So, light leathers to Doubles, Doubles to light leather, and everything in between. Hindrance changes with the AsG, not sure the exact effect on weight. I had two sets of armor, one Cuirb, one Studded changed to Brig during CCF. It is an AWESOME service for a select group of people. Most likely have no need of it.

I'm wondering if the talking sword is like the one Arteuro has. It talked to you and complimented you whenever you got a good hit, killed a creature, etc. This one's probably a little more interesting than that, but who knows.

scrying mirror is probably a x/day item like what Kali had.. Allows you to locate people.. I'd be interested in that one.. but no way can I afford it

Also wondering if the summoning orb is like a toned down version of Dart's crystal ball

Still a great item, but they aren't so hot in warcamps anymore. They were, at first, but then something changed. They don't always do fire damage, they sometimes do plasma, so no double damage. And they went from being able to hit 10+ to about only 2-4.

Still use mine on a daily basis, just not as great with warcamps. OTF has better uses at cap.

Yes, the GoS weapons give very nice boosts to stamina and mana recovery, not to mention some extra health. The runestaff does not have the extra health feature. Each weapon also has another special ability.

Pretty sure I know what this one is, an item like this went out in one of the 90's auctions and you could ASK it for certain herbs and it would grow the herb. It had a limited number of charges but was supposedly rechargable, probably by merchant only.

In the case of the Ta'Illistim property, the majority of the apartment is designed, but there are a few places where the occupant can put their personal touches. This property will appeal primarily to those of an Illistimi or scholarly bent.

You do not have to give up a "player home" to have this property. You just cannot have any of the other, similiar, large properties.

>Actually, is there more information in general that we can get on the airship, Auchand?

The airship is a standard-sized private home that has the added capability to move, on command, to several locations. The airship will remain at its given location unless commanded to move elsewhere. Due to the travel times (it is a personal airship, not a jet) involved, there is a Chronomage transit system on it and the houseboat to send you ahead of the transport to your desired destination, at a cost.

Bubble flares, which were just called that because it was envisioned they created a protective "bubble" around the person, are a flare that, when it fires, will last for one minute. They only work for melee weapons.

The regular ones give the equivalent of heavy damage padding and refresh every time your weapon flares.

The auction ones flare for WAY HIGHER protection, so much so you might not take damage if you're not uphunting like a fiend way out of your league. They also last a minute and refresh each time the weapon flares.

All this works on top of any armor padding, society padding, protective cast spells and whatnot.

If you hasted, sheesh, you might just be invulnerable to physical damage for entire battles.

Bubble flares only work if you GET HIT. They don't raise your defense. If you never get touched ever, bubble flares probably won't be of much use to you.

Stipulations: the weapon can't be higher than +35, and it can't have existing scripts, flares, weighting, etc.

a thin silver whistle

- called a “crate whistle”

- information from 2006 crate whistle: pinworn, weighs less than 2, summons “a battered antique faewood crate” to hold things for you, holds 10 items of any size or weight, will replace a disk, but can be called at any time, can be closed or flipped, random idle scripts, holds items after logging off (unsure on period of time it will wait), does not disintegrate upon death, attunes to first user

When it says "will hold 10 items", does that mean I could stuff 10 boxes in there, or if a box has four items inside, it would occupy 50% of the crate's storage capacity?

special - RP an orb-inset fel talisman, Lornon item
special - RP an orb-inset haon talisman, Liabo item

Just incase anyone is wondering what these are, they're heavily and awesomely scripted items that you design in collaboration with Kaikala.

Here is mine for reference...

Tendrils of fel curl around a bloodjewel orb, each finger of dark wood shaped into a slender claw tipped sharply at each end. The orb is the deep, dark red of a pure bloodjewel, nearly black towards the middle that lightens to a vivid scarlet hue along the surface of the orb. Along the orb's bottom, elegantly etched words alongside the slim outline of a jackal are filled in with obsidian.
There appears to be something written on it.

In the Common language, it reads:

Without a nightmare, a dream can never be sweet.

PUSH

As you rub your forefinger over the orb on the surface of your fel talisman, it glows lightly, the image of the moon of Lornon, wreathed in clouds, suddenly illuminated.

As Mikoguchi rubs his forefinger over the orb on the surface of his fel talisman, it glows faintly, a swirling, dark grey image momentarily scrolling over the orb.

TURN

You rotate your fel talisman, and a wave of icy cold moves through your bloodstream, the air around you seemingly devoid of life in the halo of darkness that momentarily engulfs you. For a moment's time, you feel as though you are entangled in the grip of Lornon. Then as quickly as it began, it swiftly ends.

Mikoguchi rotates his fel talisman, turning it easily. Quite suddenly, the air is riddled with a chill, and Mikoguchi seems to nearly glow with an inner dark light, which fades as soon as he releases his talisman.

RAISE

Throwing your head back slightly, you raise your arms to the sky in prayer, your lips silently moving in recitation. A deep, scratchy chuckle resounds through your mind, your fel talisman darkening until the sound fades away.

Throwing his head back slightly, Mikoguchi raises his arms to the sky in prayer, his lips silently moving in recitation, and his fel talisman briefly darkens.

RUB

Brushing your fingertips over your fel talisman, a striking image pervades the orb's surface:

1. You look down from far above on a verdant land splashed over with warmth and green, filled with life and color. A handful of men and women stride into view, trampling across the land, with little regard for where they step. In their wake, plants dry up, lakes fill with blood, and mountains crumble under earthquakes. The sky itself fills with gas and dark mist, and the land literally withers and dies under their feet. All at once, as the last speck of life fades away, the men and women turn their faces upwards towards you, and you see that they are the human manifestations of the Lornon Arkati.

2. Riddled with shredded scales and gaping wounds, a magnificent blue drake crashes down into scorched earth, the light from her golden eyes slowly fading away. The image shifts slightly, a long passage of time clearly observable in the surrounding land, until an ancient-looking figure appears. Casually observant, his yellow slit-pupiled eyes run over the length of the fallen drake, and he inspects her as if she were a mere plaything, occassionally nodding to himself as he irreverently jabs at her torn remains. Finally, with a small smile spreading across his lips, the figure strides away.

3. Rich, dark hair flows from the jewel-crowned head of a strikingly beautiful goddess as she stands atop a jagged, black peak. Obviously a queen, the crowned figure smirks down at those who gather below her. Bathed in shadows, and lit only by intermittant flashes of lightning, a handful of gods and goddesses stand in a circle, their expressions full of a range of the darker emotions. While they appear to pay rapt attention to one another, each seems to have an individual presence of callousness that explains the gap between each in the ring of bodies.

4. Standing in between the blackened Gates of Oblivion, a white-winged woman with long, silver hair and brilliant blue eyes holds her hands up in the air, wrists together and palms out. Floating just above her cupped hands, a tiny representation of the Lornon moon floats, its swirling grey sphere wreathed around the center in dark clouds. Surrounding the woman are the other Lornon Arkati, grasping and grabbing at the moon, each vying to hold it in their own grip.

The image fades away, your fel talisman merely lit with a glowing, dark light.

Brushing his fingertips over his fel talisman, which flashes with sudden color and movement, Mikoguchi appears lost in thought.

WEAR

As you slide the fel talisman over your head, it begins to pulse slightly with a glowing, dark light. Suddenly icy to the touch, the talisman comes to rest against your skin, and a wave of numbing cold flows through you.

As Mikoguchi slides an orb-inset fel talisman over his head, it begins to pulse slightly with a glowing, dark light, and a brief wave of cold flows through the area.

REMOVE

Pulling the cord over your head and lifing the fel talisman away from your skin, the talisman's cool quite suddenly dissipates and its glowing, dark light winks out.

The glowing, dark light imbued in Mikoguchi's talisman quickly winks out as he pulls its cord over his head.

GAZE

Tilting your fel talisman up slightly, you look deeply into its orb, as if you might somehow be able to see beyond the glowing, dark light that emanates from it. As you continue gazing, the image of the Bringer of Terror, a cruel sneer crossing the black jackal's expression stares up through the orb at you. The image lingers momentarily, and then flows across the orb and fades out of sight.

You blink your eyes, clearing the vision away.

Tilting his fel talisman up slightly, Mikoguchi gazes intently at it, his eyes clearly focused on the orb.

PULL

You tug at your fel talisman, reverently running your fingers along its edges. As you do so, you chant a short recitation of praise to Sheru. The orb on your talisman pulses with deep black, as if in answer to your words.

Mikoguchi tugs at his fel talisman, reverently running his fingers along its edges. You hear his chant softly, his exact words difficult to make out, though you clearly hear the name "Sheru" murmured with veneration. The orb on Mikoguchi's talisman softly pulses with deep black.

Bard Effects...

The fel talisman seems to respond to the magic of Chadj's song.
Chadj's face is focused, concentrated, and then suddenly laced with fear.

The fel talisman seems to respond to the magic of Chadj's song.
Looking up with an expression of horror, Chadj violently convulses several times in a row.

The fel talisman seems to respond to the magic of Chadj's song.
Chadj pants heavily, as if he were rapidly running. Then, without warning, he is jerkily buffeted to one side, as if hit by a heavy object.

The fel talisman seems to respond to the magic of Chadj's song.
Chadj whispers, "It must have been a dream... a nightmare..." as pinpricks of blood appear along his neck. He brushes his fingers along the blood, causing the illusion to fade away as Chadj jerks as if startled.

Actual Loresong...

"Lying in darkness, your eyelids are heavy, and slowly, ever so slowly, they droop closed. A scream brings you awake from dreamless sleep. You turn your head, looking for the source of the sound, but all you see is the empty bedroll next to you, void of its occupant. Desperate concern flows through you, quickly followed by fear. Another cry sounds, this one more intensely felt, full of horror, terror. You stand, moving quickly towards the sound. You hear the words, "Bren! Where are you?" tumble from your lips in a strangled shout."

"Another scream, shrill, responds. You are closer to its source, and you run through jungle ferns and along slushy mud. You pick up your pace as the sound, laced with horror, slices through the air again. You stumble over several roots, nearly falling and waking from the vision just in time to catch yourself."

"Your sight is dim as you open your eyes into the vision. A shiver runs through you as another shriek explodes in the air, this one lower in tone, devoid of hope. You are close now. The wail sounds once more, fading in volume, almost gurgling as it is suddenly cut off. The distinct sound of ripping flesh, chewing, panting, replaces it. You suddenly stumble over a form, falling partially on it. A warm, gooey, sticky substance covers your fingers. Picking yourself up, you suddenly see a dark form--a large, black jackal, yellow eyes filled with intelligence, gleaming white teeth slick with fresh blood as it looks up at you. You hear gurgling come from under you and realize that you're atop a still humanoid figure, still warm, still fresh, in its death. As you hear yourself scream, with the pain of loss, and with fresh terror, you convulse and awake from the vision."

"As you race into the vision this time, you are running as quickly as you can. The sound of a large shape pounding through the jungle, its panting heavy, reverberates through your ears you are being hunted you are prey. Panic courses through your veins, the terror pounding into your head so hard that your ears ring with the pain. The ferns snap behind you. The panting grows louder. Faster. You must run faster. How your body hasn't given out yet, you aren't certain. Then, light. You see light ahead. As you tear towards the glow, you see a clearing filled with life start to take shape. Safety--you feel a sense of hope flood your body as your steps carry you forward at lightning speed. The panting recedes. Fifty paces to go. Thirty paces. Twenty paces. Fifteen paces. The wind is knocked out of you as the jackal hits you full force from behind, causing you to slam into the ground.

"You blink, trying desperately to clear your head. You still feel the fear, feel it going strong. "She betrayed me." Instead of the jackal, a man looms over you, shrouded in darkness. "You betrayed me." The terror rises anew. You see a flash of claws from the corner of your eye. "Anything to say?" The claws are at your neck, their points biting in to your skin, drawing pinpricks of blood. You feel yourself freeze. Then, words are whispered from your mouth, so low in tone that you don't even hear them. The figure, however, looks at you for a long moment, his hooded eyes boring into you. Then he slowly nods. The claws retract. Without a second glance, he steps into the shadows and darkness descends on you. You blink. The terror has subsided somewhat, though you still feel the adrenaline running through your veins. You turn slightly, finding that you are on your bedroll once again, and next to you, a blonde-haired figure sleeps soundly, as if nothing has happened. You are as you were. "

"You hear yourself whisper, "It must have been a dream... a nightmare..." You turn over to try and sleep once more. As you move your hand to rest your head against it, your fingers brush against your neck. There, you feel a row of punctures. You jerk awake."

I'm totally jealous over that talisman. :)

Due to the fact I need to work so I wouldn't have been able to attend the auction and the tickets sold out too damn fast anyway, I'd have given my first born for that.

Some of the items look like a lot of fun either way.

Hello, hello!

The list on the website (http://www.play.net/gs4/news.asp?id=156 (http://www.play.net/forums/redirect.asp?URL=http://www.play.net/gs4/news.asp?id=156)) has been updated slightly to include some more items -- they'll be at the bottom of each pool that had items added. There will be one more update late tomorrow night (and as you guys likely have figured out, that means super early Saturday morning.)

Also, FESTIVAL is live for Platinum. Prime's verb is pretty much in place, too -- if anything for Prime's dates/times change, we'll let you know.

a thin silver whistle

- called a “crate whistle”

- information from 2006 crate whistle: pinworn, weighs less than 2, summons “a battered antique faewood crate” to hold things for you, holds 10 items of any size or weight, will replace a disk, but can be called at any time, can be closed or flipped, random idle scripts, holds items after logging off (unsure on period of time it will wait), does not disintegrate upon death, attunes to first user

To flesh this out a little, it works just like a disk. 10 items total, including the count of items inside boxes. Items will stay in the crate even when you log out of the game and will be in the crate when you summon it even a month later UNLESS the game crashes. If that happens, you lose what is in the crate, so best not to leave anything important in it. It does not disintegrate when you die. Party members can get things from your crate, but it will snap at the fingers of anyone else trying to get anything from it.

It can be somewhat noisy at times, so learn how to use the squelch feature.

So here's the real question: If I have air lore, will it increase the crate's capacity the way it would a normal disk?

Cirath posted this last night on the Plat boards. Sorry if it's a repeat - I just woke up and have more windows open than I have sense.

Because just seeing one item on the list doesn't do it justice, the Burghal gnomes responsible for this particular auction set have permitted me to pass along some details.

All of the various clothing items will fit anyone except for the armor, which can only be worn by a gnome.

All of the items are heavily scripted with unique scripts (4 to 8 each), which, along with the look of the items, capture that special Burghal gnome (not going to say "steampunk-ish", as that word wouldn't be in genre) jou ne se quoi.

a pair of side-vented round steel goggles

an overly long cream and black striped silk scarf

a pair of crossed steel-studded leather belts

some red leather trews wrapped at the knees with tattered black silk

high-collared peacock green silk coat tailed in pebbled black leather (female)
or
a sweeping black-on-black brocade waistcoat double-buttoned with wire-wrapped cogs (male)

a pair of knee-high pebbled black leather boots (female)
or
a set of loosely folded-over black leather boots affixed with repurposed steel buckles (male)

Thanks. I thought I would post it since given the limited information about what the talismans did last time, they weren't very popular and just about got passed over. Only me and one other person bid on it, and she pulled her token right before the drawing.

So hopefully, more people will be interested this time because they are awesome pieces.

Well I am able to hand it to other people, but they didn't gain the scriptyness from it. I do not believe this is because the talisman is attuned to me, but because it's attuned to Sheru, and if you aren't aligned to Sheru it will not work for you. Not having any Sheru people around makes that hard to test though.

If anyone has a Sheru character in the Landing or can meet on FWI I could test it.

Either way, when you get the item it is completely blank, it doesn't automatically go Sheru just because I was attuned. It was designed and finished through a meeting in game and email, then when it was ready I had to hand it over to Kaikala physically and she gave it back once it was finished.

EDIT TO ADD: They might actually be better/different this year, in my log she stated that she had wanted to have the talismans do more, but didn't get the approval for it, so who knows what she got approved for this year.

some blackened kroderine full plate

- most likely just over 4x

- absorbs magic

- no enhancements can be cast on it

- can only be used by those who can ‘survive an attack from a dhu goleras’

- casting spells likely to be difficult if not impossible, but having spells cast at the wearer likely also difficult

Any idea how that works? My 10x Robes can become 10x Full Plate? Wonder if it changes weight or hindrance(would have to assume so..)
a calligraphed pallid vellum certificate

- used to change an armor’s group

- appears to have no restrictions, but armor weight will change

- read: This certificate authorizes the bearer to receive services from the merchant Vagrand on the grounds of Velathae, or the merchant Gostika beyond the walls of the village. Either shall be willing to redeem it and can completely rebuild a piece of armor into another class while preserving all of its other capabilities, less its given encumbrance, intact.

a black rapture cloak

- highly zested with “dark” scripts

- cannot be removed once worn

- weighs 6, can be lightened or deepened once, but not both

- unable to inspect for capacity

- loresong: You detect that the black rapture cloak was created by a truly evil craftsman from pure darkness. You are nearly overwhelmed by the strength of the evil foreboding the cloak portends. You feel massive amounts of your mana being drained into the black rapture cloak! You learn nothing new about the cloak.

I normally don't care about RP items but this one sounds really interesting. Would love to hear of any details if plat winner feels like posting.

Here is some old info...

1: Basic Name - a black rapture cloak

2: Show - The black rapture cloak is not just black, it appears to absorb all light that comes near it leaving it nondescript and indiscernible.

3: Loresong - Unavailable, as it was worn immediately upon receiving and cannot be removed.

4: Details - Various messaging dealing with darkness, and foreboding evil...

Setzier pulls his black rapture cloak in close, protecting him from the light.

Setzier throws his black rapture cloak open wide, spraying rays of blackness as the dark haze enshrouding him disperses.

Setzier spreads his black rapture cloak wide, sending dark waves rippling through the area.

Setzier slowly runs his hand down his black rapture cloak, causing ripples of pure darkness to roll outward.

Setzier wraps his black rapture cloak around himself, causing a dark haze to enshroud him.

Eyes on the clasp of Setzier's black rapture cloak flare red as he locks it tightly.

Eyes on the clasp of Setzier's black rapture cloak flare red as he unlocks it.

Once worn, it cannot be removed. At least, I don't think it can, as it's been years since I've had it and have tried numerous ways. Even the constable doesn't remove it. If you have items within it, and keep it open/unlocked, the constable will remove all the items out of the cloak, and let you keep the cloak. Guess I'll never be able to go streaking again (like I ever did in the first place!)

5: Where I obtained it: I bought it from a Great Bazaar Auction, where the auctioneer said that it was donated by some Sheruvian Monks.

Actually, and I know Plat has a low population and silver pool, it gives me a rough estimate of what items might be most heavily fought over in Prime, and which ones might be easy to snatch up.

We should hold bets to see how high the bidding will go on certain items. Compare afterwards.

The boat went for its opening bid in Plat, will it go for 100mil is Prime? Unlikely. But how high? I shudder to think about that airship.

I'd be careful with that, Bacl. There is a strong community in Plat, and it's not at all unusual for people to bow out of bidding on stuff if another person has their heart set on it. From my experience, that sort of thing doesn't happen nearly as often in Prime.

You can, sign up for plat.

And people seem to forget, the plat auction had roughly 100 more items than attendees, so of course a lot of stuff will go cheap, we can afford to wait for something and still not get stuck with a relatively lame item. Prime doesn't have that luxury.

What Richard said if you dig "where everyone knows your name" type of thing and like getting some pretty amazing things for little to no coins, plat is the place.

I mentioned I was looking for some new armor for my rogue, I got a set of x5 Brig, DCP, and spiked for 2 million.

Prime you couldn't touch that for less then 10-15 easy.

But it's a diffrent world and you have to be self-sufficient mostly.

The switchblades being released by Vagrand are sweet.

He is going to ask for a description for the blade, the hilt, and the inscription - including shows. If you have any time before the festival to start thinking of ideas for those things, it would prevent having to come up with everything from scratch at the time of the service.

The ten different off-the-shelf choices are:

a snowy vultite dirk protruding from a gold-grained white pine hilt.

a wavy steel dagger protruding from a smooth carmiln hilt

a curved vultite dagger protruding from a blond thanot hilt in your linen pack.

a long-bladed steel dagger protruding from a dusky ivory hilt in your linen pack.

a silver-green mithglin bodkin protruding from an age-darkened horn hilt

a gilded steel poignard protruding from a varnished red oak hilt

a well-honed vultite knife protruding from a silvery driftwood hilt

a thin steel knife protruding from a swirled jade hilt

a carmine mithglin knife protruding from a detailed birch hilt

a blued mithglin stiletto protruding from a burled maplewood hilt

a long-bladed steel dagger protruding from a dusky ivory hilt

I chose to have the last one worked on, and the blade appeared to be mithglin in one of the descriptions but steel in the other. I don't know if this issue just applies to that selection, or to any of the others too.

Vagrand said the blades can be enchanted further.

The messaging looks like this:

>get my hilt
You remove a solid oak hilt from in your linen pack.
>
>push my hilt
You press a cunningly concealed panel on the oak surface of your hilt. With a soft metallic rasp, a mithglin blade juts out of a small slit in the hilt.
>
>glance
You glance down to see a long-bladed mithglin dagger protruding from a solid oak hilt in your right hand and nothing in your left hand.
>
>push my dag
You press a cunningly concealed panel on the oak hilt of the dagger. The small mithglin blade folds back into the hilt with a brief metallic whisper.
>
>stow my hilt
You put a solid oak hilt in your linen pack.
