As a halfling warrior, my major drawback is stength. To help counter this, I'm thinking about putting strength in my Adventure guild badge. Should I add to my strength stat, or bonus? :)

bonus

I was kinda thinking the same thing, but does bonus have any effect on encumbrance? :)

I would go with bonus too. Also, DEFINITELY get the Surge of Strength CMAN.

Raising bonus will correspond to an increase in stat also.....which corresponds to a decrease in emcumberance.

+1 Bonus will raise your stat by +2 ... they're 100% interchangable. The only difference (if there even is one for stats, I know there is for the bonus/skill) would be cost to charge (I don't know about stats again, but for skills you're always better off going with +skill due to bounty recharge cost).

I've got 3 ranks in surge, 3 ranks in wspec1 and 3 ranks in weapon bonding, currently.
Once I max those out, I'm not sure where I wanna go.

wear lightened plate.
The "armor support" adjustment will also help. You can learn it yourself or someone who knows it can adjust your armor for you. I think they last 4 hours or until you take your armor off. Doesn't fall off upon death like a spell either.

Another warrior question...
I'm nearing level 10 (level 9 still) with 20 ranks in armor use. What type of armor should I be wearing? I've been wearing double leather for a few levels now and it seems to have been getting the job done.
brig by level 10 the norm isn't it?
I can't really remember cos the last warrior I made was in gs3.

Look which one gives you more. It is possible to have the Treasure Master offer you +7 to your Strength STAT, but only +3 to your strength BONUS. Boosts to one's Stat Bonus are "Worth" more in bounty points, so it takes longer to unlock, whereas stat increases are "Cheaper", even if they do the same thing. Stupid system, really, as the max stat-based badge bonus for both cap out at +10, either +10 to the stat, or +5 to the bonus.

10 - cuirboulli leather: 18 ranks
11 - studded leather: 23 ranks
12 - brig: 30 ranks
13 - chain mail: 40 ranks
15 - aug chain: 60 ranks
17 - MBP: 80 ranks
18 - ABP: 100 ranks
19 - half plate: 120 ranks
20 - full plate: 140 ranks
When you have a low level character, just get the highest AsG available to you, and get to MBP as fast as you can. Strictly speaking, higher AsG isn't always better in every situation (until you get to plate), but it's not that big a deal.

Thanks for that armor table. Another unrelated question:
I found a hobgoblin who was swinging a claidhmore, so naturally I killed it and swiped the blade. Is this one of those awesome claidhmores that cause unparalleled crit weighting? Or am I just getting a wattered down version...
If so, then how much should I expect to spend on a decent claidhmore that has the good crit weighting?
Thanks.

They're the regular kind. Plain claidhmores aren't that great, really, you can pick one up from Tykel's backroom for 5k I think. If you want an enchanted one, that will be on the order of 1m, probably.

If it was a dull claidhmore, then you don't want it. The treasure system sometimes has things spawn with actual claidhmores, but in this case, dull claidhs have less than normal weapon stats.

IIRC the dull claidhmores have the claid damage factors but have masterful (+20) crit weighting. A normal claid has +40 crit weighting.
Mark
You assess the claidhmore for structural weaknesses and strengths.
Careful examination indicates the dull claidhmore has a base strength of 75 and a base durability of 200. You also determine the current integrity of the dull claidhmore to be at 100.0%.
Checking out the claidhmore, it looks like it is less effective than a normal claidhmore, resulting in it being substantially diminished in its ability to inflict critical wounds. You note that the claidhmore is still masterfully weighted compared to normal weapons.

Armor Support offers 5+ (asg group +1)x rank. So with full plate, you get:
5 + (5+1)x5 = 35 pounds of encumberance reduction. A huge number for a small race. I use it all the time, even as a human. The small races I hunt with love it: one wears chain, so 30 pounds, the other light leather, so 20 pounds, but that's a lot if you are a gnome or halfling.

Each of my Encumbrance levels past the initial step is 12 lbs.
30 pounds off is a godsend.

If you are looking to pick up a real claidhmore on the cheap, the hobgoblins in the Ocoma Vale that wear hauberk carry real ones.

It just says "a claidhmore". That's the only description.
