One of the greatest games ever.

Anyway since the search function was fucking up on me the other day, I couldn't find the old Sierra thread to try and DL the game (thread is here: http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthread.php?t=30173), I decided to check it out on Youtube.

I never knew they made a CD version of the game with full voice acting. Ended up watching the entire playthrough. It was like watching an old favorite childhood movie, but without the "Damn this was gay why did I used to like this?" part.

Tony Jay did a lot of the voice work too. He has pretty much the coolest voice ever. I forgot he voiced Magtheridon in WoW Burning Crusade too.

Click here for a trip down awesome old game lane:

The rest of the playthrough is in the related box.

Intro that isn't in the related box:

Fuck this game ruled.

I love all of sierras old games - heros quest, kings quest, most space quests...

Tierra games has done several remakes of the originals, check them out, they're quite nice.

I think those older games were by far the best - but then again, I played them at the time of your life where everything you did was great...

Sierra made some good stuff. I think they made Lords of the Realm too. I used to play that for hours. Wait no.

I'm thinking of the wrong game.

I need to see a list of things they made and I will know the one I'm thinking about.

HAHA no way. I had looked up the Lords of the Realm II opening vid on youtube and was going to post it, but thought 1996 might be a little too modern for the King's Quest crowd.

Am I you? Are you me?

...are we us?

EDIT: Yeah, Sierra made the Lords of the Realm games. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDiLapH-oJs&feature=PlayList&p=C39D2522A4D73235&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=19

I played a whole lot of quest for glory..putting QFG4 was so buggy :( there was a bug that prevented you from beating the game..and the patch to fix it caused your save game to become incompatible.. I've beaten the other ones over again, but the 4th one is so buggy I've never been able to get that far again..

With Kings Quest VI I always remember the dangling participle.. and it pops into my head whenever I hear people end their sentences with though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fg5mqB0nID0

I dont know lets check. Put a giant purple dildo in your butt and tell me if it makes you think of Darth Vader.

Lords of the Realm II is definately the game I played alot back then.

I played Lords of Magic too. I'm pretty sure the 90's were just a constant computer game to me. Whatever happen to good PC games anyhoo? Oh right, Xbox.

I have very fond memories of that game, and Lands of Lore.

Lands of Lore rocked, along with the OLD Might and Magic games, not magic the gathering or heroes of might and magic, but Clouds & Darkside of Xeen along with 3 and 4. Once they put these games into the able to walk around freely, they sucked. Both game series got ruined this way. (not sierra but whatever=)

I played the Lands of Lore throne of chaos last year after not playing it since I was a kid. Fun game, but the level design gets kind of monotonous.. Plus the whole having to walk back to this place and that place to extend the game hours.. Ended up getting stuck somewhere unable to find a key and gave up on it.

Lords of the Realm was awesome. I still have it around somewhere and drag it out every so often to play for fun. I also remember playing a game based on King Arthur and another called the Dagger of Amun Ra, both from Sierra.

From other companies, there was also 7th Guest (which freaked me out after dark but it didn't stop me from playing!) and Myst, both of which I still have.

You're thinking of Conquest for Camelot.

it rocks.

Speaking of Sierra Online, did anyone play Yserbius or Fates of Twinion? They were available in an offline box set. You could also play them online through a service originally called The Sierra Network, and then The ImagiNation Network. You can run the INN software and connect to an emulated server to play Yserbius, Twinion, and whatever the third game was online with other people... along with some of the other INN games like boogers, mini golf, and red baron.

Police Quest 3 was badass too.

That just made me think back to my favorite games as a kid: the whole Wing Commander series. I went back and watched a lot from number 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kt8vD5y0eE8

It's funny how I couldn't remember it at all but as soon as it started going I was quoting along with it, "But her lair mate is the heart of the tiger!"

Motivated by this, I found a website that seems to offer "Quest for Glory" downloads... I remember playing 1-4, and *loving* it at the time.

Sierra Online seems to not be operating (uggh, no thanks to Activision Blizzard) so can't really get the games from them, or even Steam... other than Ebay-like methods.

Anyone have any idea if this site is legit or not?

This is the DL page for Quest for Glory 1:

check out the AGD Interactive website I linked. They have DL's for a few of the games they redid, quite well I'll add.

police quest was uber. Leisure suit larry anyone? ahahah. I grew up playing that, no wonder I'm fucked up.

I learned more random trivia from those games than ever, just so I could answer the test questions to see more 90s computer porn. hah.
