So I'm moving into my Townhome tonight, but unfortunately I no longer have a laptop and this poses a problem.

So what I am doing here, is to see if anyone out there has an older laptop they don't use or are thinking of selling off, because I know the lot of you loonies have stuff like this laying around.

What I need in the laptop is the following....Must have Wireless capability, integrated preferred...Must have at least 1gb RAM and a 1ghz processor.

I don't care about Monitor size so much, just as long as it's not a Mini 9"..And I don't need all the other bells and whistles, just needs XP..Wireless Capability...1gb Ram and a 1ghz proc.

If you have something like this, let me know. Perhaps we can work out a trade or I can just simply buy it.

Right now I have a practically new Garmin Nuvi 360 GPS I don't use and could easily trade it for a laptop with the above specs. If not, I'm sure we can work something out, just let me know.

It really sounds like a Netbook would work for you, except that you don't want a screen that small. You might be able to get one really cheap from your cellphone provider too. Should be right around $200 to buy one off the net.

Other than that, doing a quick search, I came up with these from newegg:

Gateway EC1803u NoteBook Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500(1.40GHz) 11.6" 2GB Memory DDR2 667 250GB HDD 5400rpm Intel GMA 4500MHD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834101185
$449.99

Acer Aspire Timeline AS5810TZ-4274 NoteBook Intel Pentium SU2700(1.30GHz) 15.6" 3GB Memory DDR3 1066 320GB HDD DVD Super Multi Intel GMA 4500MHD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115570
$499.99

That Nuvi 360 isn't worth much anymore. Walmart is selling them for $150 brand new.

I have one that has all the above, with a decent sized screen. It comes complete with keyloggers and trojan horses, that no anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-herpes cream seems to be able to get rid of.

C:/format

Format? Y/N?

Y

Formatting ...

Edit: Or, I suppose, you can just pop your Windows disk in and select the Format C:/ option. Don't partition it.

Umm... what? He's going to need to format it from outside the infect OS, and then re-install an OS. If it's infected his BIOS (uh..) he'd just need to pull the battery and wait a bit before formatting from a disc.
