I wasn't able to find another +17 weapon to compare this with, so I tested it against a regular 0x broadsword. Perhaps one of the more knowledgeable board members can enlighten me as to what the DS bonus on this is?


a faenor-tipped imflass broadsword:
A frost giant thrusts with an ice spear at you!
AS: +244 vs DS: +224 with AvD: +25 + d100 roll: +90 = +135
... and hits for 4 points of damage!
Hard blow, but deflected.
Not much damage.

a 0x broadsword:
A frost giant thrusts with an ice spear at you!
AS: +244 vs DS: +204 with AvD: +25 + d100 roll: +41 = +106
... and hits for 1 point of damage!
Strikes a fingernail.
Bet you'll lose it now.

Was advised to test this in offensive as opposed to defensive, and it appears to be +17/+3. Briarfox if you want to drop your bid in light of this new information, no worries.
