The video is horrific, but I can't stop watching it.

Wow. I can only imagine what the mother went through in those few seconds. I'd never let go of the baby again. Jeez.

Yeah I saw that on the news this morning. She's really lucky that nothing happened. You figure if it fell just a second later the train would have hit it and if you look she almost got hit by the train too. Amazing.

I guess they have the platforms inclined towards the track to improve drainage, but after this they may rethink it... At least put a bumper or something at the edge.

wind + surface area = drag (or in this case, propulsion)

Don't put your fucking stroller that close to the track. Simple solution.

Someone needs to make an animated .GIF that goes "PWND!!!!!!111111onetwofive" right as the baby gets train-slapped. And it will be okay since the baby was fine.

Yeah that was pretty horrifying, especially how she reacted after she had to jump away from the train, just standing there screaming.

Almost looks on purpose. I mean I couldn't tell much about what she was doing besides like playing with her pants, pulling them up. But why would you face the wheels towards the track and let go of it? And her body at least if not her head was facing the stroller, how do you not notice it rolling? Did someone see her facing another direction or something?

The Melborne police ticketed her for littering. That is just sick.

PWNE...oh wait.

How the fuck did the kid's skull not get cracked open just from the fall, before the train even showed up?

It took literally 2 seconds between the start of the roll and the fall onto the track. Some people would have been able to stop it from rolling, especially if they were looking directly at it. However, given it's a train station, it's likely loud so the only cue she would have had was seeing it. She would need to react in a fraction of a second before it got out of reach, and that is very difficult to do when you look away for just over a fraction of a second.

Yeah, you just can't take your attention off a child when a train is coming to the platform (or when you're approaching an intersection). Sure they could rethink safety features and improve them but there's no such thing as a perfect safety net. Small child + Heavy equipment = Undivided attention. For serious. Glad the mother had a miracle; her reaction was agonizing and I'm sure she suffered horribly up until the moment she got to hold her little boy again. I'll bet she'll never underestimate how quickly an accident can happen ever again.

I feel bad for the kid though, because she's probably gonna be up his ass 24/7 now, even when he's like 30.
