Malignant Shield - 735
TYPE: PASSIVE
Description: By combining their knowledge of the base essence of magic with the ability to power their arts using both demonic and necromantic forces, the sorcerer is able to repel magic too weak to inflict damage back at the attacking forces.
Bolt, Warding, and Maneuver based magic lacking the strength to strike the sorcerer will have a percent chance to be redirected back at the surrounding enemy forces. The base chance, X, to reflect spells unable to strike the sorcerer is augmented by the sorcerer's skill with Demonic lore. Those creatures foolish enough to cast sorcerer spells at the Witch or Warlock, yet lack the might to ward their defenses will face a 100% chance of spell reflection. Spells familiar to the sorcerer (Minor Elemental, Minor Spiritual) have the next greatest chance to be redirected. Spells of a somewhat familiar construction (Major Circles, and All non-mental profession circles) have a slightly lessened chance of rebounding, and mental based magic (Minor, Major, Savant), will have the least chance of all.
The redirected magic will retain the magical strength of the attacker at the minimum, though by use of the sorcerers Necromatic abilities, he is able to lend his own strength to the spells, further increasing their potency. As with the possibility of redirection, the sorcerers familiarity or unfamiliarity with the magic being directed towards him will be a factor in determining what strength is lent to the spells. Spells of the sorcerers circle will reflect with the full might of the defending sorcerer's magical strength.
Note: When two or more sorcerers join together in battle, the strength and reflective abilities of their malignant shields shall increase.
