So who's going to go?

Looks like 75 a ticket if prices don't change...

Its going to be hard for me, but I may attempt this, this year.

I don't see anything on the main site about it...

They were fun, but not $75 fun.

It was mentioned on the boards or in one of those scheduled events for 2004.

Forgot what month but it is coming up.

I might attend but it will be based on how many new shops are going to be released, I'd rather not see all the old shops I did the last run.

They say you get the fun of H4H (44 bucks) with the Merchant wares and services of the Artisan Faire(56 bucks). On top of Good RP that the old Ebon Gates had(30ish bucks).

So from an event stand point, its a deal, for a 3 day event, I can see it being a nice burn in the pocket.

I don't find anything that is only text to be worth $75. Something that only last a couple of days isn't worth it to ME. I'm sure other people have no problems though.

3 days? That's CRAP. No way would I do that.

03-07-2004, 07:35 PM
All depends on where you spend your enterainment dollars I guess.

Two movies a week with soda and popcorn for 2 runs 50 here in Central New York.

Every event is just 3 days, but there is always the whines for the extended shopping week.

Holy shit...

But I agree. Besides, I am rolling in it. I'm going to go.

anyone owning up to actually paying $75 is most likely going to say it was worth it

03-07-2004, 07:40 PM
I can say that EG wasn't worth it. I paid for an RP event, not a merchant event, and I got merchants, which I didn't mind, but I'd rather of had the fun with the RPing.

But yea, I see what you are saying, just like the thousands that had to make excuses about the Matrix so it was "good" in their eyes and made sense.

Candy Bar: $0.75

I <3 college. I 8 pay events.

Popcorn - 7.50 for a large(Sharing obviously)
Sodas - 5.50 a piece. Water is about 2.50 for a 16oz bottle.
Tickets - 9 for a pm showing.
Bulk Candy - 10.50 a pound.
Other candy I have not a clue on.

Its crazy, Hoytz and Regal have killed this area!

On top of the no large or bulging purses or large coats to pass through the admission area too.

Where the hell did you go to college? Those bastards gouged us every chance and corner they could.

"I need to return this boo..."
"Do you have a reciept? Oh you bought it three days ago. Our return policy only allows returns after two days. And plus, the shrink wrap needs to be on it."

"We've been listening to all of your requests and we're pleased to announce that we're going to be giving more quantity of food for your money! ...we'll also be tripling the price of the food to compensate for the 1% increase in food distributed. We also noticed your getting too much change back so we're rounding all the prices up to the nearest ten."

My griping about college done...Either you enjoy Payfor events or you don't. People that utterly detest them aren't ever going to give them the chance.

As for the cost issue, well it depends on how you look at it. If you have the time, energy and lack of responsibility to spend like 10 hours a day online for the three days, its only like $2.50 an hour. If you suck at arcade games, you can blow a lot more than that an hour.

I generally like Pay events. I enjoy each Ebon's Gate I can get to, and I loved the first Dhu.

However, it's not worth 70 dollars for 3 days. Not even a little.

Admittedly they're necessary for some classes, but out of the 7 classes I've taken so far that have required books, I've only needed the book for 2. This would have been nice to know last semester, but whatever. It's hella fun spending 50 bucks for books for a semester.

I went to the very first Dhu, very first run, two (three?) years ago (shit, I've had my lizard for two years?), but I sure as hell don't remember paying $75 for a ticket.

But it was a great event. I got a morphing puppet, a hand buzzer (since given away), the lizard, obviously, the throwable tome, the spheres in the shop which I eventually bartered for 5x somewhat crit padded full plate when the EN opened. All in all, good stuff.

Have to agree with Sintik, $75 is way too much to spend on for a text event. I did my first pay event with EG.. and was really not that impressed. Probably won't do one again.

Dhu is in a class all its own. 75 bucks for the amount of fun I had last time is well worth it. And I'm not exactly the most pro-Simu person out there.

I honestly believe in all the time I've been here it is bar none the most fun I've had at an event.

What sets this event over all the others? High end goods?

Kitsun
03-08-2004, 12:10 PM
The Dhu actually had a ton more 'limited' edition gidgets than any other event I can recall. The hand buzzers, lizards, puppets, water cannons, sproing sheaths, tossable tomes.

The RP events involved the whole ship for the most part, they were difficult to miss.

The alterer to player ratio was pretty decent too.

TheEschaton

Shit, I was never at an alterer that had more than 15-20 people at it, that's how many were around at a time.

Har, word. No one's gonna nut up and say "It sucked and I was a noob to pay that much jack for it."

Now me, I went out with my cousin Melissa to see a play tonight. We went out to eat first, swung through a used bookstore, got some books, hit the play, got ice cream after, counting subway fare, we spent $55. It was a good show and a good time.

04-15-2004, 02:31 AM
Yea, unless i sell a nut, i'm not paying 75 bucks to get bored and go do what i normally do on the weekends. (jack off and eat kit kats)
