WHY OH WHY DO I NOT LISTEN TO MY INNER VOICE!?
I said last year... "ONE LEAGUE" next year. No matter what, just join one league.
Tonight, my fate in 3 leagues lies squarely on the shoulders of one Reggie Wayne.
Team #1: Big Money League - I need Reggie Wayne and Robert Mathis to score less than 70 points. Receptions are given a point as well as yardage and of course scoring.
Team #2: Medium Money League - I need Reggie Wayne to score less than 34 points. No points for receptions.
Team #3: PC League. I need Reggie Wayne to only score 48 points to win.
Needless to say, I'm hoping Reggie Wayne has an off night.

WWJD trades Antonio Gates, SD TE to Bureaucrats
DCK trades DeAngelo Williams, Car RB to Rex

You can blame my complete lack of other activities and the fact that I've never played FF before for the amount of crap I'm doing.
In any event, I'm seeing the Panthers going downhill fast this year and can't really take them to do a whole lot. They've played from behind all year, forcing the pass and I don't see that getting better. They managed 16 rushing attempts last night.
That said, I'll have Boldin, Holmes and Hester as the core of my lineup, with Lee evans as the primary backup. Hopefully he can get off his ass soon.
Neither of these teams is fielding much of a running game right now and should be more than content to air it out on occasion.
I also saw Gates as more of a consistent scorer than Olsen, who I had to worry about with Hester on my Roster.
I'm thin @ running back but Knowshon Moreno is gonna have a good year and hopefully Donald Brown can continue to be serviceable.

or
Palmer Vs the Browns?
Shit, talk about match ups.
Rimalon
09-29-2009, 01:38 PM
Start Palmer.
The Lions are going to cover in that game, and it'll be low scoring. Call your bookies now!
As for that trade, I thought it was pretty fair. Like Daniel said, the Panthers are terrible, and you're getting a top TE and a WR with top 5 stats for the season so far. As long as no one gets absolutely fleeced in a deal, I'll let anything go through.

Cutler has a higher estimated score for the week but a) Romo is coming off a great week, and b) I'm afraid they'll do a lot of running vs Detroit once they score a couple of TDs.

Denver has the second-best past defense in the league. They've given up one touchdown through the air so far this season, but they've given up a little bit of yardage. Jackson could feasibly rack up enough yardage to get at or near the century mark, but it's gonna be tough to score against Denver. They're lights-out in the red zone (where Rivers is looking for Gates, anyway), and don't give up the deep ball. And they're proving they aren't a fluke, so it's a really tough matchup for a WR. I say it comes down to whether or not you're in a PPR league. If so, you probably lose a tight one.
You're not in the PC league, are you?

np, np. He was a good fourth RB for me, and I was looking for a deeper option for a WR3 (although Miles Austin, sitting on the bench with his 29 points, might have solved that problem for me). I'm going to assume Ward will manage a little better than 0 in the coming weeks.
Pretty awful week on the whole for me. I was literally switching between Austin and Fitz to start this week, but stuck with Fitz. At least my opponent is having an even worse week than I am, so the mistake shouldn't cost me.

Question for y'all to start this week:
Brees vs. Atlanta
or
Schaub vs. Buffalo
I am thinking Schaub given his previous performance and TD throwing being #1 in the league, but Brees could have a good game too. Any suggestions?
Xanator
10-28-2009, 12:19 AM
For all of Buffalo's embarrassing shortcomings, they've been very good against the pass this year. Schaub is a stud, and you don't bench your studs, but if you can pick between Brees and Schaub this week, I'd probably go Brees. Atlanta lost CB Brian Williams for the year a few weeks ago, and they just got torched by Tony Romo and Miles Austin last week.
Drew Brees + Marques Colston > Tony Romo + Miles Austin
SHAFT
10-29-2009, 01:36 PM
I'd have a hard time sitting Brees over Schaub, even if Schaub is #1 in the rankings. Once Schaub has his bye he'll fall to the middle of the top 10.
Plus if Andre Johnson sits that answers your question right there.

Cutler vs Cleveland or Romo vs Seattle?
Cleveland should be a joke but I'm afraid they may start running early once they're up by 14-21 points. Dallas should easily beat Seattle too so I dunno.
SHAFT
10-29-2009, 05:11 PM
I'd probably go Cutler. Its a total toss up there. But.... if you wanna break down the stats....
Cleveland allows 244 passing yards per game with a QB rating of 93.7 per game and they've given up 10 TD's through the air with a 7.8 yards per completion.
Seattle allwos 220 yards per game with a 93.0 Qb rating and they've allowed 7 TD's through the air and a 6.9 yards per completion.
I'd go Cutler

I was up by .30 when I turned off the Eagles game (very late 4th right after a Giants score... figured the Eagles would just run the clock out), so either I missed a thirty some odd yard pass to Reggie Brown, or the score was altered somehow with post-game scorekeeping.

And not a chance of starting Campbell. They're playing Dallas. I'll probably go with Palmer. Pittsburgh's defense has NOT been good this year but a division game against the Ravens, especially when they have a chance to play spoiler and had an emotional win last week... I'm not trusting Flacco.

Oh yeah I forgot that we were doing this for money. I was down to participate but I never did end up contacting the GS Auctions dude. You can see earlier in this thread that I was trying to do so but I won't be a douche and claim I wanted to participate just to win the prize since I haven't paid the money. So what happens if I win? Does Swami get the money? Or does everyone get their money back?

Any suggestions between who is likely to be the best out of the three QBs I have for my championship game in another league?
Brees
Favre
Schaub
I am hoping Brees will bounce back from that humiliation from Dallas, but I am worried the Fucs will suck so bad they will bench Brees early to make sure he doesn't Carson Palmer himself. Favre is a wild card...they don't really have anything to play for anymore, but Favre is the type of guy who won't let up, especially against da Bears...but it will be a fucking Icebowl. Schaub is pretty hot these days...and he's up against the Dolphins in a game that matters for both of them. I am starting to lean towards Schaub, but am just not sure.

I'll let the Comish or Bruce decide what to do. I don't know that they would/will pay you if you win so you shouldn't have to pay if you lose if thats the case.

I have the same problem Alex Smith vs the Lions or start Brees. Schaub definitely sounds like the safe pick in your case. I will probably be starting Brees. He should have his numbers before they rest him.

Put it this way, if you make the wrong choice by starting Brees you'll feel a lot better than if you made the wrong choice by starting Alex Smith. At least you know you played your best QB and didn't outthink yourself. In any event, best of luck, my lineup is set. All I want for Christmas is 40 points from Chris Johnson tonight.
And I agree with starting Schaub for Revalos.

Good job Swammies!!!
I had a late blooming season due to some poor choices and then some good trades, but was too late (and damn I had one of the harder schedules)...
But it was fun! :)
Always next year!

Schaub FTW! Thanks y'all. And start up the damn PC league earlier (and how about a $5 to $10 buy in to make people keep their teams updated?) and I'm in next year!

^^^^^ If $21 or 3m silvers didnt do it,doubt 5 or 10 will.Certainly collect silvers/$ next time before Draft..Swamies should be getting 12 x $21/3m silvers.

I never thought about complimenting a woman after raping her, but that's exactly how I would do it if I ever decided to.

Grats Swami and thanks to everyone for a fun FFL league. I ended up taking 1st place in my money league so it's been a great FFL year for me in general.
Swami: I still owe the $21. PM me your email and I'll paypal you, assuming that's ok with you. I'm one of the only people in the universe who doesn't use chat software so I never got around to setting up the thing with GSAuctions.

David Whatley Memorial Trophy
Awarded to our League Champion. Before he was brutally attacked and murdered by dolphins, David Whatley was the founder and CEO of Simutronics Corp. May his spirit live on via this trophy. Record: 9-4
 Love the trophy. Next year back2back.
PM'd you Trouble. Still need to find Bruce.

Still looking for the pic of Whatley swimming with dolphins that was SUPPOSED to be the trophy...
If anyone can find it archived anywhere, lemme know! I should have hosted it myself.
It was on his "about me" page for his mobile tower defense game or whatever. That pic was fucking brilliant.
