Put releases here as they are released. INCANT was done today.
You prep your spell
And then just wait
Not sure how your
Magicks will rate
Combat is thick,
Your spell must fire!
But as you prep,
Your wounds grow dire!
So to speed up
The casting dread
Don't you use prep,
Incant instead!
It's all in one
It's prep and cast!
One easy step
Quick spells at last!
You can now use the INCANT verb to prepare a spell and cast it at the same time. INCANT automatically finds a target, so you only need to specify the spell name or number (if you don't have one prepared already). INCANT chooses a target based on whether or not the spell is considered offensive (if a spell can't be cast in a sanctuary, that's a good indication that it is offensive), so it can target you or a creature as appropriate.

Anyone else think they're going to put in a bunch of PsiNet features?
Artha

Probably. A pity they did it stupid and you can't target it.

I was thinking the same thing. Competition is good if it keeps them on their toes.

Ok, I'm a day late.
Treasures won may now take form,
In things that differ from the norm.
Knapsacks, backpacks, plain sacks and pouches,
From a creature that stalks or one that crouches.
More clothing to better suit your living,
And all are random in their giving.
An improved, more robust treasure system will now provide more randomized options in clothing and containers found as treasure. Enjoy!
Also, gems have descriptions now.

Some of the clothing items aren't too shabby. Found a 5lb backpack with a very large pocket. Some pocketed boots only weigh 2lbs. Its better than some of the crap I had to use silver to buy.

Most of the sheaths I've found only hold a very small amount. Heh, how good is that?

<<Some pocketed boots only weigh 2lbs.>>
I make those, plus a show, for less than 1500 silver.

Holy Recepticle Updated.
Calling upon the gods to bless
gems to power Brimstone and Nexus.
Holy grenades and the ability to transport
have both improved greatly for the Clerical sort.
Holy Receptacle (325) has been updated.
Tier 2 - Brimstone
*Gem use mana cost
There is no longer a mana cost when the gem is used.
*Skill factors
Spirtual Lore, Spirit Summoning determines the chance of hitting the target, while the value of the gem determines the crit damage level. This update makes the gem useful to Clerics and non-Clerics alike.
*Immolation effects
The target will now be subject to an immolation effect following the first crit strike. KAPOW!
Tier 3 - Nexus
*Failure modification
Previously, if your attempt to Nexus failed, you would be stripped of half your max mana and be hit with a mana regeneration penalty for a few minutes. Now there are two types of failure; either the gem can shatter or, on a particularly bad failure, you'll be hit with the 3-minute mana regeneration penalty along with the gem shattering. In short, the stripping of mana from the Cleric's current pool of mana is no longer part of the failure.
*Multiple uses
The gems blessed with Nexus could potentially have a number of transport uses. The chance to create a successful Nexus portal is based on the Cleric's Spiritual Lore, Spirit Summoning skill as well as the value of the gem. Upon each successful Nexus portal creation, the gem loses some of its power to create another portal until it can no longer hold any power or it fails to create a portal. This decrease depends upon the number of people transported by the portal. Remember to LOOK at the gem to determine the power of the blessing.

We're releasing lameass shit
Coded by some brainless git
And then we wrote some worthless rhyme
Which truly is a waste of time
To tell you what the new deal is
If you can only figure the fucking verse out because I don't even care enough to make it rhyme at the end.

Dateline 3/10/2004: WARRIOR TRICK APPRAISE IMPROVED!
The Warrior Guild skill Appraise (wtrick appraise) has been improved to provide increased information on a desired foe's combat worthiness. Warriors using this skill may now evaluate their opponent's maximum health level, as well as their opponent's current health level.
END NEWS ITEM
>wtrick app bobmuhthol
Bobmuhthol appears to be of hardy constitution and is in relatively good shape.
Bobmuhthol is too easy to give you any experience.

I'm glad they didn't can appraise and are keeping it now!(With asess doing the same thing basically, but the warriot trick is alot better!)

<<So untrain in it genious>>
Spell genius correctly, genius.
And that takes too long. If they're going to improve warriors, it could have been used so much better.
Like making sperf NOT a combat maneuver. That would make me happy.
unless you have been playing with your stats in the last 30 days it will take only a short amount of time to unlearn it
You do only have 24 ranks
unlike me with around 150

First Aid..........................| 105 25 0 41 in-game hours
I have nothing to spend the points on anyway.
First Aid has other benefits...
But... I understand how the 1/2 can be used in other skills.

Knowing something has a "sturdy" constitution doesn't tell me a god damn thing.
Attacking it and seeing how much health it has, however, does. I can diagnose critter health, not by first aid, but by knowing how to add and subtract.

There once was a Sorceress with a mean streak
She would cast Limb Disruption at every man she'd meet.
With luck the limbs that would animate
Were the arms of the poor chap she would not date.
Then one day to her surprise
His legs began to animate before her eyes.
His arms and legs beat him into a bloody mess
A grin crossed her face, I must confess.
Limb Disruption (708) has been updated.
The limbs that can be animated has expanded. Now you can animate arms, legs, forelegs, and... tentacles?
Previously, the chance for animation was based on the Sorcerous Lore, Necromancy. That is still the case, but it is now checked against the critter level, making it more likely that critter limbs will animate for you.
Also, the effectiveness of the animated limb was previously based on the caster's strength, but is now based on the level of the critter - a giant rat limb would not be as lethal as a troll king limb, regardless of caster strength.
The size of the critter and therefore the size of the limb is also a factor in determining how effective it will be - an ice hound foreleg will not likely take out a frost giant.
