Perhaps this exists and I can't find it (which is why I didn't put it in feature suggestions), but it would be nice to be able to mute a thread so I don't see it upon future visits. (or at least so it doesn't show up bold).

Are you using the "New Posts" feature? You can also mark whole folders as "watched" and check your control panel just to see updates on the folders (assuming you don't care about any of the non-GS PC regularity)

It's a good idea though. Like an ignore thread option.
OR of course you could just ignore the thread.

I just can never remember which auctions I've been through and which ones I haven't. Especially since the titles are... less than descriptive... in many cases.

Just post something in each like "All these items are shit", and then there will be a little check mark next to the thread, and you'll know you've read it.

Could always click 'mark all as read' after you read what you want to read.

Yeah, I'd like to ignore folders. And still be able to use the New Posts link. I just don't want to see them.

Horrible idea. We don't need a flood of posts with no content. Or worse, with only a smiley. We get enough of that already.
